I was disappointed to not see Tutaminis/Force Absorption in here. For those wondering, it's the ability to absorb the energy of an attack and either add it to your own or deflect it back at the opponent. This energy can come from things like Force powers (demonstrated by Yoda reflecting Dooku's lightning), blaster bolts (demonstrated by Vader on Bespin) and even Lightsaber blades (demonstrated by Satele Shan during her duel with Malgus on Alderaan). While every Jedi was taught to use this ability, some were more skilled at it than others, and the ability to absorb energy from a lightsaber was considered rare. So, while the ability is not really destructive or directly harmful, it was still a very powerful ability and a must-have for anyone practicing the Force.

Great comment, but you're incorrect about Vader using a force ability to absorb Han's blaster fire on Bespin..I watched a video just last night (I can't recall whether it was a Stupendous Wave, Greetsly's or someone else's video) where it explained that it was simply Vader's gauntlet being ridiculously strong and resilient. It was constructed from a tough material imbued with dark-side energy. It may have even been recycled material from an ancient sith trinket. I can't quite remember. I'll try and find the video again.

I've always been fascinated by the immense power of force storm and force lightning, notably Bane who was extremely powerful with his force lightning. It's also really interesting how powerful Valkorian was with force lightning, which you'll see first hand when you play Knights of the fallen Empire.

These force abilities are obscenely powerful, yes, but a important part of this is that these also use obscene amounts of energy. Palpatine's force lightning could kill a planet for far less energy. The thoughtbomb required an army of individually obscenely powerful sith lords to siphon all force energy into a single vessel for more concentrated usage. If you took the amount of electricity palpatine could produce with the force, you could power technological terrors of far greater magnitude. Rakata force tech would allow for almost 1-1 storage of force energy, allowing palpatine to charge a battery and have the machine do the same thing with mechanical precision and efficiency. The force's ability to concentrate power from many individuals into a single person is what makes these grandiose displays of power. You can't do that with star wars tech, but star wars tech is far better at quantity. Droids making droids with metal made by droids with ores mined by droids have the kind of exponential growth that The Force never has and never will. In short, the force seems overpowered since it puts all of it's eggs in one basket, while tech is far more important/powerful through a "we have reserves" emphasis on quantity.

Force Walk from SWTOR is my favourite, the ability to bind force ghosts and apparitions to yourself and consume their power to augment yours, it would essentially have near no upper limit and you could keep eating ghosts for thousands of years

The more powerful an ability it becomes, the more difficult it becomes to control properly and the margin for error is close to 0. So I think the force is balanced. (In comparison to many anime like DBZ)

Actually Force Oness was mostly used by Grand Master Luke Skywalker. In that state he was godly powerful. I mean he was more op than any living force sensitive even with out Force Oness. Double the power of Palpetine. But in Oness State He is godly powerful to the point that he was half as powerful as the Force god Abeloth. True he gets help with Darth Kryat somehow but he was so powerful he was able to kill her force essence body. Luke is still to this day the most powerful force sensitive. Abeloth the most powerful force being.

By making them too powerful it could, ironically, make the sw galaxy smaller, since the only ones who could counter a force user would be a force user, and the other aspects of the galaxy such as bounty hunters, alien monsters and such could become irrelevant. Look at DBZ, which I don't hate mind you, but it turned its main characters so powerful that all the other interesting side characters eventually became practically obsolete.

Legends is still canon to the SW universe. It's only non-canon to Disney continuity. But Lucasfilms stated the old EU (Legends) will be its own continuity and will be still regarded as old canon (meaning original) So Legends is the original canon. So there are two canons in SW. Legends canon and Disney canon. Canon is a fan term. It's called Disney canon. If fact Lucasfilms named Legends the Legends canon and Disney as the Disney canon.

This is some of the reasons why I LOVED Legends!!!! Yes some things are stupid like the Palpatine Clones but others make Star Wars stand out compared to other fictional universes. There is a reason why Star Wars is more fantasy than science fiction because lets be honest: Force Storms and the Power to cause Supernovas that kinda of training should probably take 10 years on a 24/7 training regiment. But that kinda of made it fun. The way they are executed in the comics/books/etc. make it pretty cool. It shows how creative the writers have to be when creating these concepts have to be. Like Darth Nihilus, my all-time favorite Sith Lord. He could Force Drain entire PLANETS but he still won't be satisfied. Which made the build-up and the eventual fight all the more worth it in KOTOR 2. In the game, I was i hearing all about him and his powers which made want to fight him even more and kick his sorry ass for trying to defeat me. I am sad about the Nerfing of the Disney Canon universe but it is understandable since they are trying something new and the audience has changed slightly for the newer demographics. So I loved some parts of the Disney canon like Sidon Ithano (I have a feeling that he is going to become one of new favorite characters of the Disney Canon) and Obi Wan's ex-lover Duchess Satine (The giddy part of me believes that Obi Wan and Satine have a child which Obi Wan didn't know about). Legends Pros: KOTOR games, Jedi Knight games, and Clone Wars 2003 cartoon. Cons: Palpatine Clones, Legacy Era, and Juno Eclipse (she was really boring). Disney Pros: Sidon Ithano, Satine, Darth Vader Comics, and the Rouge One crew. Cons: The Force Awakens film, CGI Star Wars moments (which the made the CIS/Empire look like an army of numbnuts that can't do crap on the battlefield), Kylo Ren (In my book, he is the newer version of Jar Jar until he gets character fixed) and more CGI Star Wars moments in which the bad guys CAN"T DO ANYTHING against the Good Guys due to Plot Armor!!! Overall, Legends and Disney Canon are both cool and stupid at the same time. I like them for what they are. I hope all of you get an appreciation for both Canons.

Great list and all, but Vitiate could not just eat an entire planet after his Nathema ritual. After he betrayed the Empire and destroyed Ziost, the capital of the Empire, he was powerful enough to literally consume the entire galaxy. As in, eradicate all life in the entire galaxy. I would say that makes Force Storm and Thought Bombs look like picnics. Also in SWTOR, one Sith Lord named Darth Nox learnt how to adsorb force ghosts. Nox adsorbed the essence of several force ghosts, amplifying her power hugely until she reached a point where she essentially became invincible. I'm not kidding. Members of the freaking Dark Council unleashed their most powerful attacks on her, including massive force lighting and it didn't even make her blink. I just thought those two needed to be said.

Jen'Ari-Asha Vitiate was never capable of consuming the Galaxy. That was a possibility seen in a vision after Vitiate had gained the energy from the accumulated deaths of the war between Republic and his Empire. As for Nox she had shields durable enough to tank Thanaton's attacks but that doesn't make her invincible unless you subscribe to no limit fallacies.

William Henning Not really, the force ghosts granted Nox practical immunity towards force attacks. This is defined by the story itself. The entire point of the Third Chapter is Nox gathering ghosts to reach the power where even the sustained attacks of a Dark Council member didn't even scathe her. If that is not essential invincibility, I don't know what is. For Vitiate. Did you not play the SoR expansion? The entire plot-line is that the player most stop Vitiate from consuming Ziost, or else he would be powerful enough to consume the galaxy. The player fails and Vitiate does consume the galaxy. After that, he was powerful enough to end all life in the galaxy. In KOTFE he implies that the only reason why he didn't was because he changed his mind and wanted to conquer the galaxy instead.

It's the ability to shield yourself from a member as powerful as Thanaton and likely successfully shield yourself successfully from more powerful ones but it does not indicate invincibility. That's a non canon ending that has no bearing on actual events considering the SWTOR storyline is ongoing. Link to where this is implied please.

So far off the mark on that thought bomb idea. Vitiate's ritual consumes what you might call "the soul" of everything. It drains the entire planet of sound, color, life and even the force itself, leaving the planet an empty husk. Some planets have an alignment with the force, like Dagobah which had a strong dark side presence. So did probably Vitiate's homeworld, having long housed ruling Sith Lords and hosting 1000's at the time when vitiate consumed it. These nightmares were just that, nightmares made reality, space station-sized monsters that could theoretically devastate planets(were supposed to).

He isnt, while he has acess to many powerful tricks, and studied the force deeply in all of his life he still fails in comparison to many sith ancestors, take into consideration that he had Darth Plagueis as his master and even so, he had to train his ass up all his life to get force storm, and master it and even after doing so he had to prolong his life with clones, the true scary sith lords are those that outlived Palpatine, by using dark side powers and who got good control over the sith artifacts, Palpatine isnt one of those.

i think the best ability was when vitiate was going to go through the ritual to devour the galaxy. which would allow him to be unstoppable to the point where he was able to recreate the galaxy in his own image which is quite scary.

The EU may no longer be canon, but Luke being the most powerful Jedi to ever live is still canon, so hopefully in Episode VIII we'll see something close in magnitude to some of the more basic feats in the EU, like a group of stormtroopers being force pushed away when they charge at Luke, or crushing a Tie fighter with the Force.

But Lucasfilms stated the old EU (Legends) will be its own continuity and will be still regarded as old canon (meaning original) So Legends is the original canon. So there are two canons in SW.
