Basilio can crit well over 20k if you build him around crit and strike damage. He also has the ignore resistance strike that can damage anything and does not consume a turn when he crits. Using his royal class that is

So theres this slightly kinda hidden enemy in the last area of the game. It spawns at 2 crystals near each other that spawn a lot of teeth enemies. Eventually after killing them for a while it can spawn a big tooth which in battle becomes a big gold tooth and a big silver tooth. Notably you can steal Health and Energy Incenses from them, but more importantly they each drop a FUN accessory that do very FUN things. One of them repels....all physical stuff, as in slash / pierce / strike, the other repels all of the elemental stuff. They also give between 6 - 9k Archetype exp (if you can take them out without getting hits its the 9k almost 10). Now I mention this because if you take Heismay, put him in his Royal Archetype, give him the thing that reflects all elemental stuff, give him that headband that gives you a high chance to evade the physical stuff, and go with whatever you want for abilities and other stuff. He only needs to dodge or repel once and goodbye all of the enemies turns, the only thing that he needs to worry about is almighty attacks. I paired this with a team that boosts Basilio to high heavens, all with front boost equipped, 1 buffing, 1 debuffing, 1 there to look good (its heismay obviously) and if the enemy isn't dead by turn 1, they don't usually live past turn 2. Also make sure you learn all the archetypes on each character. You don't necessarily have to max them, but learning them on each character gives you 2 weapons per character. MC gets Seeker and Merchant weapons. Basilio gets a very nice axe that greatly boosts strike damage, unfortunately it doesn't seem to stack with the helmet that also greatly boosts strike damage.

Some other notable builds 99 AGI any archetype protag with dodger ring + heismay royal ability to full deplete turns when dodging. Doesnt matter if enemy hit party member with an weakness as an simple dodge totally ruins even lategame bosses that perma spam soul scream 99 STR prince archeytype protag with crown and synthesis boost accesory, by default the highest damage dealing build with proper buffs and debuffs you can hit for 99999 (yes thats an real number) outside archetype or items the best power increase in the game is gallica social rank 8 : victory foresight gains extra turn icons

So a physical MC is the canon route or magic like in SMT?

You only need 52 STR to hit the damage cap with the Prince of 99999. Not needing to max out to 99. Meaning you can allocate those points in other stats. Be it luck for more Crit or agility for more accuracy and dodge. Or even just putting the rest in magic (you'd have enough to hit 99 easily while still having 52 strength) so that you can do magic attacks for fun if you want.

Physical Prince can hit the damage cap and one shot any boss with 99999 damage. Can hit that cap with only 52 Strength as well. A 99 Magical MC however can at most do 53k. Just over half of what the Physical one can. Sadly the Prince doesn't have a Severe Magic and the mage line must be used if you want the best magic on the MC.... The differece between previous listing up to Severe is a whopping +50%... Which makes it so sad that the Prince doesn't have any magic attacks that have that. Making Physical what seems to then be cannon for the MC to use.

What's the setup to actually reach 99999 damage? Any specific inheritable skills on the Prince?
