I do a similar strat regulary but with ayyubids. You do age up once to feudal and choose the blacksmith upgrade age up. It's then essentially the same but you have your plus ones, and upgraded spears. Its a good strat if you can keep your population growing the entire time.

Love the meme strat but I think if you really want to win you should age up after the first kill. Getting ranged armor and phalanx on the spears would be huge. Then you can get a dhow or two to defend water and king if you put him in a transport. Love the commitment to the strat tho

You know, these fish booms get me thinking about how there are a lot of booms that follow the same logic as fish booms that people just haven't gotten good at yet. Low start up cost, huge resource input per minute, but able to give returns for a long time before a town center even gets started. Since, I imagine a few strange civs are going to peak as we figure these out a bit more.
