Nice work!! My father owns a 316i since 94 and it was painted red in 2009 but some errors were made like painting the bumper and door strips in red and not black. I'm gonna fix it soon I hope.

these 30's are very decent looking cars. When I was a teenager (early2000's) they were my dream cars. When I was making a driving license they were dirt cheap here, even though I couldn't have afforded to maintain it if I had bought one, and now well preserved ones are ridiculoulsy expensive. I drive a BabyBenz now, and I don't think I will ever get a E30, however it will always be my love.

Same story here, but I made it happen! I waited for over a year looking at E30's for sale until I found a Perfect one to buy, not Overpriced, only 2 owners, VERY LOW Mileage, no rust! It looks brand new! I'm so happy with it.. I say.. Don't dwell on your dream and just do it!

Maybe not mint ones but very decent e30's are still available at a reasonable price, that is for less than 4500 euro you can still buy a decent 320i, which of course isn't a 325i but still a very lovely car to drive, and the 4 cylinder cars are still below the 3000 range (well, not this 318is but a regular 316 or 318i). They are also very reliable, easy to maintain & repair and parts are still relatively cheap. I bought my 320i, a very early one from '83, in a very decent shape for 2400 euros, but that was 7 years ago. It needed a little tlc but it still has the original paint in very good shape. It has over 300.000 km (ca. 190000 miles) on the clock now and it still has the original tranny, diff, most of the suspension parts and the engine is still very smooth and up for a fight. Milage is not the issue with these engines, it's how it has been used, they are very tough but it is imperative to drive them warm before you put your foot down. I added a few other classic bmw's to that (e3, e12 & e28) but that e30 is my queen and I'll never sell it again!

I got 2 325e(ta)'s, extra engine, front and rear subframes, suspension and an extra diff for like $5k Canadian.. Yes they have rust.. Most do.. They are 30 year old cars after all.. But still hold up better thsn anything made in the last 20 years.. If you really love them you would have bought one and started repairing it by now.

not any e30 though, depends on where you are and what model (and year) it is. In Europe, four cylinder cars (316, 318i) are still cheap, but prices for decent six cylinder cars are rising fast, a well preserved pre-1988 325i for less than 10k is impossible nowadays, particularly a manual 2-door car. 323i is hitting the 10k mark also, only the 320i is still less but for less than 5k is getting difficult. M3 is a different story altogether (50k and up), compared to that the others are all cheap of course.

My uncle gifted me his 1987 325i convertible and it was in rough shape but I’m looking forward to bringing it back to its former glory, has 220,000 miles on it but it still drives fine

Maar waarom nou niet even de ramen eruit? Deze liggen in rubbers en zijn niet geplakt... Dat geeft nou net even meer de touch en afwerking ipv "afplakken bij de rubbers" Nu krijg je zo'n lelijke verfnaad langs de rubbers, en loopt 't water er alsnog achter, met als gevolg dat de roestduivel alsnog kans heeft....

Goed punt. Hier is van te voren wel over na gedacht. Als je goed kijkt zie je dat er een touw zit tussen het rubber en het raam. Dit zorg ervoor dat het rubber helemaal omhoog gaat staan waardoor je precies tot op de juiste plek komt met de lak. Dus je ziet geen randje en mogelijke roest vorming is niet mogelijk als er geen kale plekken zitten. Eruit halen kan natuurlijk alleen het nadeel is dat het dan echt een zooitje wordt. Het interieur is nog helemaal perfect en wordt een grote stof benden. Het complete interieur had ik er dan of uit moeten halen of de lijsten weer moeten afplakken. Oftewel beide niet ideaal. Ik snap je punt maar dit geeft denk ik een beeld van de overweging;)

mooi werk man. Heb zelf ook geprobeerd om een auto strak te maken voor het spuiten maar uiteindelijk toch maar naar de vakman want wat een werkje is dat echt respect voor de plaatwerkers en de spuiters.
