precisely why he went with a TT LS...........idiots dont know how much blowing an engine can cost or a diff....this guy has obviously been around the block enough to know LS setup build around it lmao. S38 is a bit high comp to be pushing large boost. Its a fine engine as is Id much rather have a well built/tuned like a glove NA stroker vs a car with big boost you can only use it on the straights anyways....as a driver you wouldnt learn much about driving fast with a car like that if you were an amateur.....hes also building it as a drag car. Nice thing is that with tunes to gear and boost delivery he can use it at a strip or a track.

50/50 weight distribution when it was stock, now it has a big V8 with lots of turbo plumbing in the front means there's probably not a lot of weight over the back wheels, add no electronic aids at all and a fairly aggressive clutch and it's probably not very easy to launch fast at all. This isn't a drag car built to launch as fast as possible but useless around a corner.

There is a reason, why BMW engines won a lot of the "Engine of the year" awards. They are well engineered and designed for usage on daily basis. Now, to everyone yelling, that BMW's suck etc., first off - You can never rate a car, if you are not the one getting it in showroom. You can never determine how it has been used and abused, and abviously, driven crap is driven crap. Almost all German engines are very complicated, and the younger the cars get, the more complicated they become. Tri-Turbo Inline 6. Trying to DIY yourself? What I wanted to say with this, about no BMW V8 in the car, yes, Murrican engines are the best bang for buck. You can go OEM road, but it requires a lot deeper pockets than taking something commonly and widely avaivable with such an aftermarket support. For example - Dinan, a company that tunes BMW's. Their services are expensive, like, really expensive, cause they took the time to study the engineering of the cars and engines, and they can use this for their own good - there's little to none companies that provide such an extensive modifications list. There's Alpina and G-Power, but they have a little different background with BMW themselves.

i get it that the Chevy V8 is more affordable but i think he should have gone with a BMW V8. i like to keep engine swaps and cars getting the swap in the same family. for example a Nissan powertrain in a Infiniti or a Renault or any of the 3 is fine by me. and sometimes i can see exceptions il admit. i have a project that my ultimate goal goes against that completely only that the engine layout is the same across both brands. anyways as long as he enjoys it thats all that really matters

TheCarista. Idiotic comment of the century you fuckin moron. Take a ride in any car with coilovers. Bet you haven't. And I can guarantee you it has better traction than you can fathom.

its normal to anyone with the means and feasible capability to create a LS swap should and would its a matter of practicality and logic....cheap low maintenance and light weight.....though Iron block is strongly recommended for application of forced induction.....you cant out value what a LS setup brings let alone LS+boost...as the world stands its the go-to.....look at auto cross or any amateur racing its the king lol it makes the driver....look at the nitto challenge lmao some random LS drifter wins drag speed, and track speed at some amateur event where they give a year supply of tires lmao....and hes in you guessed it a NA LS 240sx lmao...only fitting a drifter wins a year supply of tires.

I respect this nerd, he is a God given tool, he would have just easily put a V8 in there but no he built ground up and mated it well to this body, WOW, RESPECT my man, greetings from Eswatini.

The build is ruined by the heavy chevy v8. Should have used a BMW engine - an M60 or M62B44 would have kept it a BMW - right now it's a chevy in E30 clothes. Do not like. Seriously - I've had a M60B44 in my e30 - it's not that hard to do - and I'm willing to bet a BMW V8 is somewhat cheaper in europe / GB than a chevy engine. The BMW engine is also lighter and has a better HP/liter ratio in N/A form witch would have translated in it's boosted form. Oh and it gets better mileage.
@rossco198018 жыл бұрын
thats your choice of what you would have put in it , not mine! i dont care about keeping it bmw my car ill do what i like with it , as for it being heavy yeah might be but it is actually more balanced now than it was as the engine if further back , i never built it for other people to like it i buit it how i wanted it but thanks for the input
@kaneCVR8 жыл бұрын
It is a nice car tough. Great looking too. Still, why did you go for the chevy engine?Those things are expensive. For that kind of scratch I can get an S85B50 M5 V10 + 6 speed manual (where I live).
@rossco198018 жыл бұрын
+kaneCVR well were I live you can't get one for less than 6k , I built this engine for about 3k , Chevys are a lot cheaper than you think I mean the set of Pistons in this are 4" 8 off and cost me 220 , the whole forged bottom end including a bare block cost me less than 1k, I've been bought up with big v8s and hot rods so I've always liked them plus every one put the bmw v8 in them , why be like everyone else I like doing my own thing 👍🏼
@kaneCVR8 жыл бұрын
whoa, that's a lot of $$$. I'm from Romania and here a chevy small block will set you back at least 5000 euro, while an early BMW v8 like the M60 or M62 is about 500 euro. As a matter of fact, I'm staring at a local ad witch parts out a totaled E60 M5, and the seller is asking 9000 lei for the engine and gearbox - that's roughly 2000 euro for an S85B50 V10 (cheap for even these parts). Thinking of swapping it into my e30 - the only issue would be bypassing the EWS or somehow incorporating it into my car. Meh - if he the engine turns over and is not physically damaged, I'm getting it :P

He says "Most of my friends think I'm mental, but you only live once, so why not?" This car reminds me of a great phrase 'magnificent obsession'. This is how you get extraordinary things done. You don't get where you want to be by living a 'balanced' life. If you have dreams, aspirations, goals; you must develop a magnificent obsession. This is quite a different thing than 'being mental (crazy)'. Possessing a magnificent obsession means that there is a method (a purpose/driving force/inspiration/vision) that only you can see, which resides behind the madness, which is all that others see.

To me, as a BMW purist, this is simply disgusting. E30's are becoming rarer, what's left should be preserved. This isn't even a BMW, it's a disgusting bastard build which is utterly tasteless. These cars aren't about HP, its about handling. On the other hand, kudos to putting effort into the car.
@thewedge88233 жыл бұрын
0-60 4 secs? no way, its gotta be faster than that if its really 800hp... and same HP/Weight ratio as bugatti... its gotta be at least 3.0 secs
