Instead of trying to find minuscule pieces of dirt in the middle of the floor or on the corner of the wall, you should press the TAB button (it will show you where all the dirt is). You should also try pressing the R button because it will turn the power washer vertical instead of the normal horizontal.

I'm a car detailer and power washing and extracting carpets are by far the most satisfying parts of the job. Only use the white nozzle tip for real cars and a power washer that outputs max 1900psi. Use anything much higher than that and you risk stripping the car paint.
