I like how Mikey Garcia blocks the jab to the body and counters with the left hook. Adrian Broner was a sucker for that counter from Mikey Garcia. I like how Tom Yankello teaches the same principles that professionals use with the block with the elbow and counter.

Man those hard blocks can be so debilitating. Years ago my son was fighting a guy in the state finals. They both traded left hooks, my son's hook fell short and caught his opponent on the bicept. His opponents left arm was useless the rest of the fight and my son won the state championship.

Great Stuff Again! When I was training in JKD we had a defensive destruction system, coming largely from FMA/Kali, using what are called "guntings" or "Limb Destructions" in English. Using Elbows like the point of a blade or hitting in to certain parts of the arm/bicep as you saw Andy Ruiz do with Anthony Joshua, for example! If you simply block or cover, it's a passive motion, while pinpointing the elbow in to the arm as you show here is not passive defense and can give a guy a dead arm if he puts any power on the shot! Nice to see innovation and open mindedness! Most of these "destructions" are perfectly legal in Boxing or MMA! And once you inflict some pain, you borrow that moment your opponent is responding to the pain to follow up or enter very easily!

Glad you guys figuring out old tricks my lightweight world champion trainer Mando Ramos would teach. Mando in the early 80's taught boxing out of the Wilmington teen center, Mando Ramos taught boxing for free to kids that wanted to learn boxing. This is one of many tactics you can learn as you spar and fight others in boxing. If you become really good and strong at punching and balance you'll get so good that you actually can make your opponents hit themselves with their own gloves👊🤣🤜✊😵👋.

Beautiful coach! Real talk you see these techniques in certain MA. As a older man now I love using the elbows as deflector and attacking soft tissue areas inside the arms. Young dawgs say I’m cheating 😁. Some times you get the added bonus of attacking your opponents balance off the elbow blocks. Has to be timed right against a totally committed punch.

This is the basis of many of the techniques in traiditonal Chinese martial arts, especially Hung Kuen - damage the opponenets weapons to deter subsequent attacks. It's also the reason we condition our forearms and shins.

Whoa I am not a fan of dirty boxing beat the man with the skills given to you not try to Elbow that's not one of the strikes in the great sport keep it clean at all times these are rules spoken to you by the referee before the fight starts remember these rules and regulations💪!
@WorldClassBoxingChannel5 жыл бұрын
J Star it’s not a strike. It’s a block that your elbows are in position to protect the body. The opponent hurts himself because of the trajectory and position of the elbow. There is no blatant strike of the elbow. Big difference between the two.
@jstar65435 жыл бұрын
@@WorldClassBoxingChannel I respect the difference of opinion but I still think blatantly placing your elbow so you can contact the persons wrist forearm Etc it's not clean boxing in my humble opinion💪
@boxersal95705 жыл бұрын
It not dirty boxing it smart boxing u turning every part of ur body into a weapon
@jstar65435 жыл бұрын
@@boxersal9570 if you think that, that is the best way to win a fight and these are the tactics that you must resort to in order to win the fight then good luck💥 cuz in my humble opinion you should always keep it clean just as the referee tells you before the fight starts these are the rules and regulations💪!
@brucele27765 жыл бұрын
@@jstar6543 it's legal and not it's not dirty. Many boxers use that technique and it's not secret. What you don't understand is that elbow defence can be counter. Every time he drops his elbow to block the hook, his face and the other side of his body is open. You can use that hook as a set up. Fake that hook to create an opening. You may double hook: light touch to the elbow then go hook to the head. You can fake the hook then then go to the opposite side with your body shots, straight, over hand or hook. 4:13 his left face is open when he expected a right to the body, just fake that right then proceed with the head shot. It's fair and not dirty. It's just boxing.
