Pretty full-on it’ll turn out, as three-time Formula D champion James Deane gives us a Dunsfold demo we won’t forget in a hurry and then - after a slight delay - lets Ollie Marriage, Top Gear Magazine's Head of Car Testing have a go in his bonkers 2JZ-engined BMW. How does it compare to a regular M3? What’s it like dealing with that much steering lock? Is it easier in the wet? Originally built up from a 320 diesel, Deane’s car has been radically modified to cope with tyre melting angles, drift battles and the searing heat of competition.

If by "drift" you meant trash a 15k transmission by not using the clutch then yeah , props...... You and that guy are both morons and have no business behind anyone else's car. He held the limiter way too many times and is lucky he didn't pop the motor as well. Luckily james has his brother building his engines to last.

Good driver, would've done better going a gear up for most of this but you don't realise it judging the experience driving off a road car. He did amazing and you can see the buzz. Lap after lap, just utter enjoyment

@@Danimal_McLeod definitely due. Wheel speed being a factor with more angle, it's going to take time. Good steady input, just ran out of momentum in the gears. The fact he can jump from high horse power with all the aids to this, is admirable. Think the BBC should do the LZ compound, a drift special if you will with the engine options, chassis options and the pioneering projects. A time attack lap to wind down. Car scene is slowly making it's return 👌🏻
