I love playing Metagross - I just wish they made his ult less clunky. It gets canceled by a strong breeze, especially with all the invulnerabilities/invisibility/high mobility of the current meta pokemon. It feels absolutely terrible to have your ult lock-on to a Meowscarada only to have them trailblaze over a wall and your ult get stopped because you can't follow.

I agree he's very good. I think a lot of people just don't find him super fun compared to other all rounders. Also any 3 stage lvl. 9 evo is a tough sell vs. a team of crazy strong lvl. 4 & 6 power spikes. But if you can get Metagross evo'd and online he has the capacity to be both a front line bruiser & a defender. Something very useful in soloq games where all your teammates want to play attackers & speedsters, lol

After the buffs and resulting 'gross meta™ I saw how good this thing was, the early game can be a bit rough and the unite move is underwhelming, but it hits hard and is just so tanky

Its a super sweaty mon especially in those team fights but is still super duper fun. In this cc heavy meta, the brawlish play style isn't that sought after and hence people areignoring its existence. Also its unite being S-tier unite at times but being horrible at other times(mostly bcoz of its auto targeting) is still a put off.

Definitely feels like a win-more Pokemon. In games you get ahead, it destroys, but if you fall behind, you're gonna have a bad time. The video illustrates this perfectly with the Metagross on the other team.

meta is pretty good but against strong cc teams he seriously needs help. I've had my unite canceled and zen canceled way too many times to the point that it makes me feel like I'm griefing my team when I choose the gross, and I play him a lot because he's my fave mon.

It always appears as left (basically, you and your opponents get a different viewpoint). Its kinda like mirror view (like when you wave your right hand, your image in the mirror waves it's left hand)

Would muscle band be a good replacement for razor claw? Especially in the meteor mash build? Also how do you decide on which moveset based on the opponent team comp? Is magnet rise better than zen headbutt with meteor mash?

No, razor is perfect with meteor mash bc it is a enhanced basic attack which proc razor for burst damage & slow

Muscle doesnt actually help it that much because the attack speed really doesnt help it at all except for 3 levels i believe. All others it does literally nothing more. His items are the best for damage while you can swap the stacking for a defensive item if needed.

I'm using exp share. Since he is not as strong till lv 9 and exp hungry.. I keep thinking about whether or not to run rapid fire scarf. Since his boosted ATK. Reduces the CD of his moves. Since meteor mash has a high cooldown

Ok... did you say you use xp share this cause its xp hungry? My guy... that does the opposite. Quite literally does the EXACT opposite. It helps your allies. It doesnt help you get xp. It gives it to your allies. Beyond that, rapid fire scarf is ok but it doesnt give the value you want. Yes the attack speed is higher but not really. Only makes the attack speed higher on a few levels and only if the buff is active. Its always better to run other items as they are truly better for metagross. If you dont like stacking, a defensive item is still better than scarf

Choose mash when they have squishy mons that you can target all game. Especially against those slippery ones that can just run away from you if you don't oneshot them and can burst you out like glaceon or espeon. And also when they have lot of stuns that can make brawling with gyro ball impossible then you just need to switch to mash. Ultimately if you play a few dozen games of both you will just figure out yourself when to play what.

He said in the end of game 1 that he chose meteor mash because the enemy team was squishy - atackers and speedsters. Therefore, we can extrapolate that gyro ball is used when there are more talky pokemon, like the all rounders and defenders, and there is healing involved.

Sorry but I have to completely disagree. Metagross is not slept on, he just isn’t that good. Looking at his kit, it’s kind of a underwhelming kit. Metagross basically doesn’t have a passive with the amount of CC in this game. Let’s get that out of the way first. Potential 50% CC reduction means nothing when you are stunned for 10 years with this game’s crazy CC Magnet rise gives a small decaying speed boost that provides no protection against the Myriad of CC in this game. Full heal only goes so far. This makes it increasingly difficult to stick to squishy but mobile targets. Zen headbutt has no business being a skill shot. It makes the move a high skill low reward sort of deal. If you miss the initial shot, you get nothing. I’m not advocating for a sure hit zen headbutt, but why couldn’t it have been a basic dash and small knockup? Gyro Ball is probably Metagross’ best move to be honest. The problem though, the current Meta as of this week has Umbreon at 54% pick rate, and his unite counters your entire gimmick of using shields to sustain in fights. Meteor mash packs a much bigger punch than gyro ball but that horrendous cooldown leaves a lot to be desired. The shield is also smaller than Gyro balls so often times you’ll use this move once in a fight and die before you get to use it again. And the Unite… ohh boy, don’t get me started. Every other unite in this game gives you full control over how you get to use it. Metagross unite throws that concept out the window much to our detriment. Imagine this scenario: Metagross trying to hit their backline delphox, you hit unite but the enemy slowbro on the front lines took enough damage that your unite sends you barreling back to your team. With the enemy delphox unite slapped in the middle of your unite. And let’s not forget that you aren’t unstoppable during your unite scan, if you run full heal you almost always have to use it as you unite to avoid being stunned before the dash begins. And the bugs on the unite, from the wall-fortress not being able to be taken down randomly, to small walls canceling your unite. All in all, Metagross is quite an underwhelming experience. Yours truly a 164,000 pt Metagross.

I think metagross does not require much skill when it comes to the mon mechanics but its too macro heavy like when to play defensively when to engage and try to ko multiple opponents or when to try and ko the high level on other team, etc, so its not actually a good mon for those who dont understand macros, also his unite has more potential if one knows macros

@@Clam-ou8nm there are mons that one can play bcoz of their kit and have more impact on the game’s win without good macro plays like dragonite, ttar, mewtwo x or y, dragapult, decideuye, inteleon, etc where they can win bcoz they being what they are in term of their kit, but metagross kit is very dynamic it can be played as defender, allrounder or attacker/assassin if one knows macros and then it becomes OP or above average in terms of tier, for most it will be B tier but for those who know macros its nearly S tier, but if one does not know macros, and try to play this mon as all other mons they not gonna do well with it which is why not many play it or have positive winrate with it And idk how any other allrounder apart from ttar can be used as defender and that also is usable at the end game not almost whole game like from level 5 or even as assassin allrounder, same as any damage oriented mon, like i said macros and game understanding is needed to know to understand what all Metagross can do, its not his kit which contributes to winning using it but more of how its used, and for that one needs good macros

@@VictiniSlushie macros, its like what to do in the match, match awareness you can say and what is right to do in that match at that particular time for your team to be more toward winning chance, and you can watch spragel, cris or inder, there is someone else to who has made videos on macros or how to play pokemon unite on youtube, there u will find just a basic structure on how to play efficiently, that u will find in those videos, but as u play more matches u will know what to do rather than not being rigid in uhr play, that macros

Metagross feels as heavy as tyranitar, but for me it feels that hes lack in personality, its too punchy. It doesnt feel unique or that much fun maybe thats why people sleep on him. Its strong sure, but it feels like a defender with the power of an all rounder. He feels like a rushed concept to bring a popular pseudo legendary and attract people to unite.
