"One does not simple topple Rome on it's own" But here you are, Alton, having another invasion into Roman territory. Great video, as always. Let's go on the next one! Rome must Fall!

I was suprised to see this was an Imperetor video. Thought the game was dead. Cool vid btw

Yeah pantheons in this game are very finicky, I looked into it once after a starting case like this and I:R basically assigns a percentage for “common” and “uncommon” deities to appear in the pantheon of countries - some countries have unique or special or more rare deities that they can start out with. In your case you kinda just got some terrible luck with not even one Druidic deity at start lmao

If you're not planning on a part 2 I would love to see a game as Thebes, Bithynia, or that weird Spartan colony whose name I can never remember (you have to start as Veneto). The tiny isolated countries are the most fun!

One of those 3 you mentioned is currently in the works.

That was amazing, even though it proves that my opinion that it is never fun to fight the romans in I:R is mostly based on how bad I am at this game :D

It all comes down to numbers and controlling the war goal. Also knowing when to end the war.
@reak732 ай бұрын
@@KingAlton9403 yeah but in numbers the romans are hard to beat. probably actually good that you start of so close to them so they didn't have time to get even bigger with all their cultural assimiliation.

@@KingAlton9403 And i beat the the romans quite a few times over many runs but it almost always becomes an endless grindfest

Eww, republics Good job though. Rome is op as hell, even if the game is named after them. I've played dozens of nations and never once saw them lose to any other nation than my own
@KingAlton94032 ай бұрын
That's funny, for my games there's a 50% chance they get destroyed by the Etruscans, and either get full annexed or turned back into a kingdom.
@johnjaeger29682 ай бұрын
@KingAlton9403 I wish that occurred in mine. It would feel soo much more dynamic if it did. It doesn't seem to matter where I play, if I am not actively helping Rome's enemies, they wind up conquering all of Germania, while ignoring Carthage and Gaul. If I play the Greeks then they'll go east. But they're always a superpower unless I help kill them so someone else has a chance to rise
@KingAlton94032 ай бұрын
Playing with the Virtual Limes mod helps deal with the horrible border gore Rome creates by just blobbing north into Germania. It slightly railroads them into growing more historically.
@johnjaeger29682 ай бұрын
@KingAlton9403 do you think that might contribute to their collapse sometimes? Does it do some balancing?
@KingAlton94032 ай бұрын
Maybe, but it at least makes Romes expansion more predictable.
