Main problem with paper Mario is that Nintendo banned creating new unique characters and variants for the games, so now they feel bland and soulless. Also unlocking new areas in rogue port through finding new partners and abilities was very charming.

Sicker Star's Combat System was flawed, and it's story basically not existent. Color Splash, while better, still suffered from its poor combat system, and its story, while better, still wasn't anything unique. And while I'm glad Origami King's story was way better than the previous two, it's clear from developer statements, and insights, that it was drastically held back on purpose. The combat of that game, while being neat, still had some issues with it as well. Paper Mario fans, unfortunately, haven't had an equally good, new, and unique Paper Mario game in 15 years.

I’d say Paper Mario fans are spoiled honestly. We get a new game every three or so years nowadays and besides sticker Star none of them are bad at all, maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but still good games. And while I’m in the majority when I say that I wish old paper Mario was the standard, I still enjoy most of the newer games for what they are. It’s better than being the guy who’s favorite nintendo franchise is pikmin and then having to wait as long as we did to play another pikmin game, by the time pikmin 4 came out I was a completely different person.

Adding some more franchises to this. Style Savvy/Fashion Boutique fans: starving. Our series might be dead tbh. Radio silence for a few years after the 3DS era, then the devs release Fashion Designer which, while still a dress up game, doesn't follow the S.S. formula and is basically its own thing. If they prefered gambling on a new I.P. over giving Style Savvy another chance, I think it's time is up. Pokemon Fans: Both? Hear me out. On a surface level, Pokemon fans have never been starving. They're used to multiple generations worth of games on each handheld and the newest ones always get dlc. But when you look at the quality of said games...they're starving. Mario and Zelda fans can look forward to pretty, well-optimized games while Pokemon fans can look forward to a steady stream of the exact opposite. So if you're only judging on content, spoiled. If you're aldo judging on quality, starving. Tomodachi Life fans: Starving. TEN YEARS. IT'S BEEN OVER TEN YEARS SINCE WE'VE GOTTEN ANYTHING. Mii fans in general have been starving because Wii Sports is dead, Wii Fit is dead, Wii Party is dead, and Miitomo is super dead. The only glimmer of hope we had was Miitopia getting ported to the Switch, but flash forward to now and there's still no news that Tomodachi Life will get a port, let alone a sequel. And finally. Fire Emblem fans. SPOILED. Y'all have seriously taken for granted how good we have it these days. During the Switch era, we got 3 Houses+DLC, a TMS port, a FE Warriors Port, 3 Hopes, and Engage+DLC. So much content, yet I STILL hear people going "where's the FE 4 remake?" "They gotta give us the FE 4 remake!" Guys. Unless you're a FEtuber that doesn't want to ruin their life by focusing on Heroes content, you don't need the FE4 remake right now. Try TMS or the Warriors games if they sound interesting, or try a different SRPG to fill that Fire Emblem gap because the Switch has those. The FE4 remake can wait. Edit: I forgot about FE7 being on Nintendo Switch Online(and FE6 if you have a Japanese account). They technically count, but they're on a temporary service and there's no way to buy them outright, so I don't count them. I suppose that's one way us Fire Emblem fans are starving, there's no legal way to own or play most of the franchise now.

I'm a Zelda fan, and the whole "I want WindWaker HD on Switch" stereotype doesn’t really get to me. Sure, I have said that it would be nice to have it on a modern console considering it came out on a console that didn't sell a lot, but with the switch 2 announcement, and other releases, other zelda fans have to realize that it's most-likely not happening. As for twilight princess HD (or the og), I have never played it. I will soon, though. And the "Ohhh, the totk temples and stuff are so terrible", I don't care about the dungeons. Totk for me was not as memorable as the other zelda games, I'm more of an older game zelda fan. (I.e Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time)

same here i still prefer LOZ Skyward Sword, Majora Mask, Twilight Princess, Wind waker Zelda games over the boring open world of The Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom style it's way too open and progress player character-wise almost feels nonexistent via zero power scaling with the player character. open world games need to give the player stat gains in order ,for me to care about open-world gameplay like in Dragons Dogma. What is the point of exploring an open world if there are no real gains and by gains I mean not HP or Stamina stats the stats that are like Offensive gains like attack stats or using magic. only being able to get more HP and stamina in LOZ Tears of the Kingdom and LOZ Breath of the Wild made me feel there was almost no real reason to do shrines.

As a Zelda fan, I 100% agree. I mean, we have BOTW; TOTK; Link's Awakening remake; SSHD; Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition AND Age of Calamity; PLUS Cadence of Hyrule AND the upcoming Echoes of Wisdom. That will make EIGHT Zelda games on the system. EIGHT. And they're mad about not having WWHD/TPHD on it? JUST BUY A WIIU IF YOU'RE SO DESPERATE MAN. And that's not even including the 10 Zeldas currently on the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service as well. NOT EVERY ZELDA GAME NEEDS TO BE ON THE SYSTEM. And as well, if they ported every WiiU game to Switch, it would basically make the WiiU obsolete and functionally irrelevant from that point on, cause why bother getting a WiiU, all the games for the system are on Switch anyway, ya know? So I think it's good we are leaving some of the WiiU titles alone (at least for now).

Starfox fans (like myself) are starving for new content. I hate how when a new star fox game comes out it's either just a port of the 64 title or a reimagined version of it. The dlc for starlink (which includes Fox and his team only on the switch version) was nice but they could've just made another starfox game instead. And when the series does something fresh like Starfox Adventures or Assault (my favorite games of the series) Older fans seem to hate it cause it's either not repeating the 64 title or it's different cause fox can walk around instead of flying. Overall,I would love if the series could get a fresh new game with a fresh new story other than you needing to defeat andross for the millionth time

Wanting Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD is a rational desire, especially considering they're on either devices that are outdated or didn't sell well/aren't being sold anymore. BotW releasing on two consoles and getting Skyward Sword HD only proves even further that it's possible. Either that or NSO will have the Gamecube games added onto it later on.

honestly, I would say Pikmin, Metroid, MK, and AC are NIETHER starving or Spoiled. Metroid has had Both Dread(which sold well) and Prime Reamasterd for Prime 4 so they’re eating good but not spoiled good. Pikmkin 4 was also confirmed to have sold well so that to me says we’re not wating as long for Pikmin 5 but it also seems like Miyamoto wants to apart of every entry and he’s probably working on StarFox rn(it’s hinted that he switches between the two). Switch 2 is supposed to be released next year and they’d be stupid not to release a new MK.

Concerning the Zelda WW HD and TP HD on Switch thing. I personally find it hilarious that people lambasted the Mario 3D All-Stars collection, yet wanted the same exact thing for Zelda. Also, those 2 HD games were 2 of the few WII U games to genuinely make good use of the WII U gamepad; remove that, and you already remove half of their improvements let me tell you. The only way they can work, is if they receive some kind of extra content to make up, especially with Miiverse gone. TP should be bundled with the Crossbow Training spin-off for example, in this way it's 2 games in 1 too.

Metroid is my favorite franchise of all time got started in 2015 for me with Super Metroid. So i didn't have much to play in terms of anything new. But i was elated for Dread and Metroid Prime Remastered. Now MP4 is coming soon and i know mp2 and 3 will get Remastered so i can finally play them for the first time. ❤🎉

But there is a justification for wanting ww and tp on switch, we only got to play half of the traditional 3D Zelda video games on switch the rest of them are nearly impossible to get to play legally. Unless you already have the game cube or wii and the newest 3D Zelda’s don’t scratch the traditional 3D Zelda itch many older Zelda fans want! And yes plenty of 2D traditional Zelda on switch more then half in fact but not more then half of the traditional 3D Zelda and I don’t think echoes of wisdom is going to impress the older fans as much either and it’s not 3D!

As a Metroid fan, EXACTLY. Metroid prime is my favorite game ever made and while I’m excited for prime 4 I genuinely don’t think they’ll ever make a prime 5. I feel like they’ll have another decade long hiatus. I’m thankful though 4 will come out soon. Prime remastered and dread were also fantastic so things can definitely be a lot worse they did give us some games I have to admit.

I have done speedruns of some of the fire emblem games and i will say us fire emblem fans are starving because the first 6 mainline games plus the DS remake of mystery of the emblem never came to the west. Oh and the fact a prequel to the first mainline fire emblem game is on a snes addon that is japan only being the satellaview. This is why we are grateful for fan translations
