Look at the Blue Team's bench, guys. They only had 7 players total available. That "play" was only so they can waste time until the second half. What I'm wondering is: why not just forfeit? It was a guaranteed Loss, no matter what, why make the kids/kids parent's have to drive out for the game? Thumbs this up to get it to the top.
@Fernando-yx5li9 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I'm pretty sure it was painful for the kids to endure that type of loss. Just forfeit

@jtohio889210 жыл бұрын
There's an actual strategy to this if you want to read this... The blue team is not breaking any rules in any way by doing that. As long as two players keep passing the ball, there's no violations of 5 seconds or anything. On top of that, the other 3 players are standing behind them because they are supposed to box all the other players out and let the two players keep passing to eachother to run the clock out. The only way the white team could get the ball if these kids did it correctly would be to foul and then, they would all have foul trouble and the blue team would shoot free throws instead of finding shots against a clearly more athletic team. Head Coach should deffinately get props for attempting this i hope this method gets exposed and used on a national level as a loophole of rules and gameplay.
@jtohio889210 жыл бұрын
Think of it like football, if you huddled every single person around one player with the ball after you hiked it, locked hands and all stayed standing up until the clock ran out... that's how this would be except in basketball rules make you pass or show signs of attack. With athletic enough players that could box out much better and hold longer, imagine how much better it would work with 3 6'4 guys boxing out for two 5'10 guards... especially think if you were up by like 6 late in a game with 2 minutes left in a high school game with no shot clock mind you. Many people don't realize high schools don't have shot clock..
@icyboy771z10 жыл бұрын
lol wtf there is no loophole. the white team could just do nothing and let the shot clock run out... they will easily be losing everytime
@vizard134910 жыл бұрын
thats sounds like a good idea but the strategy would seem very stupid because it doesnt require practice nor skill to do so and it also sounds like a pathetic plan because they will just lamely win there game its not a true victory and theirs no effort whatsoever so they have 0 chances of going to the professional leagues or being in the NBA
@dildeep1710 жыл бұрын
I feel like their is a very easy fix to this. Just go out of bounds and penetrate their little circle thing. your allowed to step out of bounds without the ball so just go around their little circle to the front and step back in bounds therefore your on the inside and can swat it away. If my theory is true both of these coaches are horrible and i should be doing their jobs.
@ImTylerJo10 жыл бұрын
Maybe toward the end of a game this could POSSIBLY be even slightly beneficial. No, nationally this is a pointless, non skilled form of basketball, it is neither fun to watch nor effective in many cases. If you did this anywhere but a white boy school team, Im pretty sure youd be on the bench for a large part of all the games.

This was a stall tactic created by Jerry Shipp 1964 Olympic Gold Medal Captain, who coached at KIngston Oklahoma in 1980. I was a Senior ball player from the adjoining county and read about it in the Daily Oklahoma, right after it happened. He had the flu and was sick at home for days and came up with the perfect stall at the time. The middle player had to straddle what was then the 10 second line and the three middle players passed it back and forth with one on each end of the three to protect from reaching in. There is the History lesson.

Im a former college coach let me explain.... What they are trying to do is a old trick to line up 3 across and to outside blockers and hold it over the sideline and stall. The reason they are doing it is because they are horrible and trying to shorten the game. They are so bad that they are not running it right. I saw this first hand preformed at a high school game in arkansas. The pitiful team burnt out a whole quarter . They bad team was down 8 to 0 at half and 14 -o with 6 mins to go. The final was 23 to 6. If they would have played straight up they would have been beat by 60! It only works when there is no shot clock.. But i must say the white boy team was a disgrace to the game !! They were freaking horrible!!!! Did you hear them say 26 to 0??

I once watched my school's basketball team's C team game. Our team had two six-foot giants. The other team was moderately sized. We played a 2-3 zone the whole game. Instead of the other team changing their offense so they could get in the paint, they played ALL 5 PLAYERS outside the 3 point line. They just threw up 3 pointers the whole time. I counted 10 attempts. Not one went in. We won something like 50-0. Congratulations. You just played yourself.

well when I was in high school we had a tournament, and right before we played there was a team who held the ball majority of the first half and kept the score very low because there was not shot clock at the time they could do this, I guess the team that they were playing had beat them their previous meeting 108 - 33, and there coach had kept his starters in all game and was pressing full court the whole game, Dunking throwing allyoops and just outright un sportsman like. when I heard about that I agreed with them every bit, you have to have some sort of respect. I mean shit win the game and do what you do but at the high school level your supposed to learn about respect teamwork and sportsmanship, if this is the case here I do not blame this team at all, but if there just doing this because they dnt wanna compete then they should forfeit because there are fans and players who love the game and shouldn't be made a joke for any reason
@IphoneMixtape36010 жыл бұрын
Rodney Chism yea if you can, the funny thing about that team I mentioned is they didn't even make state lol because they could only run up the score and send a statement against sorry teams but against the big dogs they just got ran, at this level of basketball a statement isn't worth it, what are you proving? these are kids who aren't getting paid and most will never have a legit basketball career so I guess to make yourself feel cool for a game or two go for it, but there is always a team better and you wnt take a loss very well if you cant win with respect.

2007 it was a very athletic federal way team and the best player in the state that year didn't even go pro but several others from the area did, Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Tony Wroten,

Blue team-Blame the coach, they prepared for this game by making the damn sideline play. They should have prepared with a full court press breaker-I did not see one screen set to get players open either. They broke the press at about 2:45 and still 45 chose to turn away and run the play. However, the white team and/or the coach needs to show some class and humility. I also think there needs to be a 30pt mercy rule for full court press. Shame on the white teams coach for letting his team humiliate the other. Isn't a substansial win enough?
@marsgoblin40329 жыл бұрын
Fuck that, score until the clock runs out. If the other team wasn't prepared then that's not white teams problem. I would've made the same call.
@dookdawg2149 жыл бұрын
Mercy rule, ok, but not early in the game. A 30-point lead midway through the second quarter is not end of story. We can't tell how far through the game this video goes, but since blue hadn't scored yet, it appears to be the first half. I don't think that's a fair point to criticize a full-court press. 40 pts in the fourth quarter, ok, but not this.

can someone explain why. I have been looking through the comments and I guess no one knows
@BlueHen1238 жыл бұрын
Its because they are stupid kids. They knew they were gonna get blown out by these men vs boys, so they thought, "Hey! Lets just pass to each other for the whole game!" They didn't know they rules and it backfired
@jarrettpeeples97458 жыл бұрын
They were hoping that it would piss the other team off, and they would foul them trying to get the ball back. That would have put them in the bonus so they could shoot free throws. The other team should have just stood back and let them stand there with the ball. They would have gotten a shot clock violation every time.
@YunginYu8 жыл бұрын
+Jarrett Peeples why would they do that just to get in the bonus, they lost like 100-20 still so that doesnt make sense
@jarrettpeeples97458 жыл бұрын
Because they weren't going to score 20 without it. They couldn't even get the ball across halfcourt in the normal flow of play. They weren't going to win either way, but this at least gave them a chance of getting open shots at the free throw line as opposed to getting mauled on every possession.

@Thisvideoblows19310 жыл бұрын
If u hear thee score they were spiny it because the other team played with no class or sportsmanship 26-0 full court press kind of pathetic to me. They just tried to match the sportsmanship
@ATBPjako10 жыл бұрын
Kyle Perry so for you, being classy is going easy for the other team cause they suck? that's not classy at all.
@RathlordVideos10 жыл бұрын
ATBPjako Actually it's pretty common in sports to act with sportsmanlike behavior. This includes not destroying the other team when you have a sure victory. This isn't some "middle school everyone's a winner" hippy thing; even pro teams will put in their second and third string players if they're going to destroy the other team, or take a chance to run risky plays or try new strategies. I guess being honorable and showing good sportsmanship just doesn't come naturally for some people. In the mean time, please don't judge people who expect decent behavior.

Ignore those 2 dumbasses ^^. Anyway, They were doing that to try getting the other team in foul trouble, they knew the other team outmatched them so they wanted to foul all the good players out. The other players arent going to just stand around, their coach would be furious, so in their attempts to steal it they were getting reach-in fouls.

There trying to waste time off the clock ive seen it before if its a team that you can't come close to beating save the kids the embarrassment let time run out instead of letting the score ran up on them
@drmayeda193011 жыл бұрын
It didn't seem to work. You can only run out the clock for so long. They had waay too much time. You can't stall for three quarters. It's almost like they picked the team from the middle of a high school PE class
@ajp5038110 жыл бұрын
Might as well forfeit. I'd rather do that then just pass the ball back and forth in the corner
@canyouread10 жыл бұрын
this is more embarrassing compared to losing by 100
@monkey220ms8 жыл бұрын
I think what happened is they are clearly smaller and worse than the team in white, so instead of just losing the ball on the offence they tried wasting time so the score wasn't as bad
