I will never forget the wholesome moment when after convincingly defeating Jon Jones, Chael Sonnen kindly asked Bruce Buffer and the commentary team to announce the then young fighter as the winner. Chael even let him hold his title and defend the 205 division before moving to heavyweight to dominate Fedor. Truly a moment in sports.

One thing that did sorta annoy me was TKZ's translator in the cage really did him (and the non-Korean speaking fans watching) a disservice by overly simplifying the translation. He left a lot of things out and did a poor job at accurately conveying the tone and weight of what TKZ said. Because the stuff he said in Korean was a lot heavier and heartbreaking than the relatively generic stuff his translator relayed to the audience.

Great video, just what we needed. The TKZ one hits me hard. Something about seeing a whole arena sing his song while leaving was a magical moment. Another couple that really got me (and there may be a bit of recency bias), watching Nina scream Strickland’s name when Bruce announced him winning the belt and watching Chris Curtis watch Sean win the belt, such a great bro moment. I’m also not a Colby fan, but there’s something about the way he was with Weili that made me soften up to the guy

That such a legend (yes, he truly is a legend) starts to cry at the fact that he is getting the recognition that he has so well deserved after such a long time is just... i sont wanna say heartbreaking but you know what i mean, maybe beutiful is a better word? Along side Robbie’s retirement, there are two more events that broke me a bit. The first was when Randy Couture retired. It broke me a bit as an old guy myself. The second is when Matt Hughes walked to the cage after h the train incident. That one tore me up. Watching him shamble to the cage. I was a mess.
