I think its cool how far away the human record is from a possible tas record. An interesting surf history video could be some of the maps where humans are closest to tas? and the history of those maps?

cool surf map. imo not being purely surf is not grounds for disqualification. If it had more bhop than surf would make sense to exclude because bhop has its own community with servers and record-keepers. But without this for fall maps (i would call them dropper maps like in minecraft), it makes sense to include these kinds of maps. Being too short might a better to exclude it though. The 'cheese' routes taking much longer kinda assuages this point though. Overall, I'd say the high-quality and innovative mapping and decoration (and having bonuses) count in the map's favour, outweighing the other borderline issues. So I believe surf_blackheart deserves 'official' surf map status,

Surfing is like... Flatly put the step above Roblox obstacle courses, so I wonder how many got interested in that forward momentum aspect and switched to surf after getting done with the simplicity of just getting through those puzzles. Crossword puzzles to sudoku or something like that, but since 2006... Well I got my hint of surfing through vloggers, and I wasn't interested. The fun part of the latter ones is that I can just stop and see others going, or change music. I think that's why we have Fall Guys now. But I digress a bit. I think it's beautiful how players and map makers come together.

Turn binds introduce the concept of multiple inputs for the explorative and technical world that is surf. I have always considered that maps that are able to be completed by using only the mouse to be a different set than those that cannot.
@iDaxen3 ай бұрын
at the highest level, on pretty much every map turnbinds will be used. A lot more maps would be viable without turnbinds, but that would mean an increase in mouse sensitivity and with that, less smooth movements.

awesome vid as always! I just have to ask, do you really use q for +left and e for +right? how do you press q and a at the same time o.o? also bugs2 inc??? :o
@iDaxen3 ай бұрын
I don't. I use mouse1/2. But when I learned about turnbinds people told me that's where I should bind them because mouse would be pressed too much accidentally. I only used q/+left cuz "e" was so unnatural and never with "a" at the same time. So yea, there was little control or precision there :D

@iDaxen Ah, I've always used q and e but the other way around. It makes more sense once you get used to it, don't have to use middle finger at all. Also no mention of my sideways complete rip. Maybe i need to do a non cheese run🤔.
