To new players PDR = physical damage reduction this is the stat that Armor rating boils down to the cap is 70% (ill edit if im wrong on that %) MDR = magic resistance rating & NWA = hit songs

I do believe that this is THE optimal build for fighter in the hit game Range and Ranger. I think the main difference between this and the class "Ranger" is actually having the ability to deal melee damage

@@JamaRift​​⁠150 on the head is uncommon, most people don’t have the budget to reach that number. The sprint nerf made it so it’s impossible to catch anybody at all. Try slayer in HR and try to melee against anybody - it’s virtually impossible to win against PDR, and ranged class has more ms than you(wizard warlocks rangers). If you don’t play like I just did, you ain’t gettin any bread as a fighter these days. o7 brother

Rondel and Shortsword do well on this build. DPS on the Rondel is pretty good, and the draw speed is instant since you are main handing a dagger.

You have to play that way. It doesn't matter how much pdr/mdr you have in this game, you LITERALLY cannot catch anyone. The only people who will ever straight up fight you are Barbarians and Rogues, and you win against Rogues, so they're going to run away, and Barbarians beat you easily because they are just in every way the better class. ALL other classes are just going to kite you out, and there is ZERO counterplay to it. Doesn't matter how tanky you are, when you literally can't hit them, you are going to die eventually. In PvP games, melee classes work because they have gap closing abilities. In this game, that doesn't exist. Do you know how much 20 move speed is for sprint? It's like a 7% move speed increase. For 6 seconds. It's useless outside of extremely niche situations. And the best part is, most classes will move faster with their base movement speed, than you do WITH SPRINT UP.

it seems like main purpose of pdr builds right now is it to simply give your teammates a room to breathe since you can't rlly do anything but block incoming damage with your body. i learned it the hard way... (maybe it possible to become "landmine" fighter lol)

As much as I hate using this as a solo fighter, it is necessity... I run more PDR in duos/trios but still run a bow because you just have to unfortunately. I personally would love to see not being able to draw a bow while moving on every class except the ranger. I think phantomize needs to be on a longer cool down as well.

It's kinda interesting how the balance of fighter has changed with the sprint nerf, and hp gain at the same time. When I play plate fighter with my friends in trios, I run taunt and second wind, and kinda feel like a god. But fighter definitely feels weaker now in solos. This build is definitely a great answer on how to play solo. Slayer is still viable IMO, but you're gonna need some seriously good rolls to make it work. Probably adv tunic with agi, and leather cap/ whatever gloves with agi too

The biggest downfall of this build is how much distance you cover and how much time it takes to finish a fight. This can often lead to agro on a ton of mobs, especially when not on the goblin caves, and it opens the door to get third partied.

Fighter is honestly balanced atm, I think he was pretty ridiculous when you got +50 sprint. The problem is warlock and barbarian are still just as broken and OP so fighter FEELS a lot weaker. Then the other classes just run away and kite. I think fighter is in a good spot but I'd like for them to adjust some of the other classes and maybe discourage the range and ranger gameplay in some way (I dunno how)

I think it's insane that the best fighter build just turns you into a ranger. IMO I think they need to go harder on the parry/block system and less on kiting/movement speed. I'm here to have a sword fight with a chad in full plate not run around poking each other every 20 seconds

I killed a fighter, druid, wizard team recently. They took down the other fighter I was with, and I had 3 green molotovs, and just set them ablaze before raining steel upon them. Nothing like getting my first cloak and purple weapons from slaughtering several high leveled players who should have killed me.

Been playing the f2p version of the game since it came on steam and been enjoying it. However........ i know its partially cuz im bad, but fighter does feel kinda bad in PvP. High armor and playing a yknow...... knight is fun for PvE but is essentially useless against the majority of players i run into. I have multiple clips of it my gameplay just being fucking loony toons chasing a druid or rouge for actual minutes not being able to do anything. I love the actual game and the changes with the loot for f2p's is great. And truly i think as a f2p demo i think its one of the best experiences on steam (being f2p and a demo) but wow the balance. Some fights I die and I get rekt and it feels balanced. Feels fair. Like there was a fighter earlier today that just DUNKED on me cuz he has better gear, better skill, better build. But still being a knight. Most of the time i just get loony toon'd out of existence by the 3 billionth wizard/warlock/druid/rouge. Its actually infuriating trying to do anything while playing fighter as a knight or anything OTHER than a discount rouge/ranger. Cuz of all these things I've killed actually 2 players since i started playing. (14 hours) Oh and btw if you think its just me being a pussy/wimp/newbie not understanding a "hardcore game". I am bad, and that's part of it. But it is NOT all of it, NOR the majority of the reason. And this is not the only "hardcore unfriendly to new players" game ive played, I used to play tarkov, and i have 2k hours in For Honor of all fcking things. So no its not the game just being "hardcore" and me being bad. Fighter as anything other than a discount rouge feels terrible against players, I would try another class but uh- f2p and Im level like 42 lmao.

Lorr, I’d like to see you look into this build: fine cuirass, chapel de fer, loose trousers, double move speed heavy’s. Ring of courage w/ armor/max health, frost amulet w health/armor. Rondel/buckler and surv bow. 309 move speed 63% pdr w/ 145 str. I truly believe it is one of the few viable fighter builds right now

Yeah I think they’re both good! Max HP is for sure more expensive and AR seems to be overlooked. 140hp with high PDR seems to be a sweet spot for fighters o7 brother

@thelorr I ran a copy build with 40%PDR and high MS and it felt even more toxic with being able to be more confident up close. And potions and bandages feel more effective with a lower health pool. You do amazing all around, bro.

yes rogue is very op. But if you have less then 500 hours i wouldnt recommend you going all in on rogue just yet is way more high risk high reward. try fighter or bard for a while you will see that your rogue skills will improve alongside your overall DarkAndDarker gameplay because rogue is one of the classes that relies most on your decision making making it way way easier to play when you have every basic stuff in this game mastered. Its funny, ive been playing a light plate curselock the last few hours and the fights ive had against rangers and druids have been the most fun. Long and drawn out, a lor of resets sometimes. If the melee had more movement mechanics involved with it so that melee could be sprinkled into range trades, it could be fun. Then we might just turn into gunz the duel though lol

Bard > Ranger > Fighter > Warlock = Barbarian > Everything Else > Cleric. Don't know where to put druid as i haven't played it and it's too new also rogue/wizard are extremely skill based and situational , they can be put on the top of the list or the bottom of the list depending on the build and player. Also worth noting some classes are better in certain maps than others but basically right now if your class can do a lot of range damage it's good if it can't it's bad.

Why use 2 pieces of plate vs slayer?

You can achieve 107% move speed with the plate gear since chapel de fer has +5 agi and gauntlets have +3 agi if they’re epic. I tried this with slayer without the plate and was able to achieve 105% ms. I think it is good enough, and that way you are able to enable slayer. But 105% to 107% even though small are substantial differences in MS o7 brother
