Mad Respect for Kei Kamara! I woke up at 4am to watch the Norwich game, I woke my roommate up screaming when he scored. Represented MLS really well coming off the bench to get the win!
@synergy14nerd2 жыл бұрын
I have some major respect for Kei. I have met him multiple times personally, my father and soccer team have met him in Sierra Leone on a footy missions trip, and we have helped his specific charities in africa. Really great guy and loved/hated when he scored against the Sounders. Always bitter sweet, but glad it was him at least. Massive MLS journeyman. Great lad.

He is terrible in the locker room. He seems to always cause problems everywhere he goes. Off the field he seems extremely kind and generous.

Your video is great! I love MLS early years. MLS had great players in the 90s and 00s. Clint Mathis was Dallas Burn's worst nightmare. Carlos Valderrama is an absolute legend! Tony Meola is the first goalkeeper and only goalkeeper to win MVP Award in MLS history. Mark Dodd was a great goalie, he played for the Colorado Foxes in the 90s. Ante Razov is Chivas USA & Chicago Fire all-time leading scorer ...I think he is the only MLS player to have more goals for two different teams.

What player holds the record for most cards (Yellow and Red) in a season?
@dannytradio2 жыл бұрын
I know there are multiple players with 3 red cards in a season, including Roger Espinoza (who holds the record for most career red cards in MLS history) I don't know who owns the record for most yellow cards in a season. Off the top of my head, I would guess Diego Chara. If he plays another 2 seasons, he has a real chance on catching Kyle Beckerman for most career yellow cards
@trojans72 жыл бұрын
@@dannytradio My bad, I meant both yellow and red combined. Lol, can't believe that Espinoza is the record holder of the most career red cards in MLS history. How many does he have in total?

Valderrama 26 is really 25. 1 of those assists he got credited for a secondary assist which skewed the numbers
@michaelfarrow5817 Жыл бұрын
I think there's a tactical difference between MLS in the 90s to now because there's a difference in football between then and now. In the 90s, a fairly common formation was to play 3-4-1-2 with thee centre backs, wing backs, two central midfielders and a specialist creative midfielder "in the hole" behind two up front. Unless somebody goes full Maurizio Sarri pre-Sarriball era and plays 4-3-1-2, I don't think you'll see anybody get the opportunities to lay it on like Valderrama did back in 2000.

I definitely see it being broken eventually. Had Josef Marti in not gotten injured, I would've bet my life savings he would've stayed hot a few more seasons, and seriously challenge the record

But because Steven Lenhart isn't in the league anymore, I can't imagine anybody doing/breaking that, lmao died laughing at this.
@michaelfarrow5817 Жыл бұрын
I can't see the all-time scoring leader being broken. Vela broke the single-season record and he's scored 70 in total at 34 years old. The only active player to have scored more than 100 is Kei Kamara and, at the sort of rate he scores nowadays, he's need to play 30 games a season for another 5 seasons. I can't see it happening, though he could overtake Landon Donovan this season if he keeps at it. Wondolowski was the perfect storm of a guy who only really started scoring in his late 20s, which is why nobody really went for him in Europe, and then kept scoring into his late 30s. He scored the bulk of his goals from 2010 to 2019 at a rate of a goal every other game. If a 19-year-old came along and replicated 2010-2012 now, he'd be signed away very quickly. I can't foresee the MLS career that breaks that record in 2023.
