i agree with everything you said, ESPECIALLY with adding MUSIC and CCL into mls season pass, that way a lot more people could watch it (especially those MLS fans abroad like me ). but perhaps my favorite change would be adding a 4.30pm game, cause that would be 10:30pm in Spain, so I could watch a few MLS games without staying up 'till 2am

You missed one feature that I would like to see. We currently have home team radio broadcast, I also want there to be access to road team radio broadcasts. Since we do not have dedicated announcers anymore, which I think is an absolute shame, having access to whichever radio broadcast you want to follow your favorite team home or away is a must! Being able to sync either radio broadcast with the visual of the game is what the fans of specific MLS teams and those who want specific MLS team coverage crave! Not only that, it’s almost impossible to get the current feature as it is to work on a smart TV, and it only shows up half the time on the iPad. I’m a Charlotte fan… Fuck the impartiality! I want to hear either our Charlotte TV announcers back every week for every Charlotte game, or I want to be able to sync Charlotte radio with the Charlotte game every week. This is also handy for people with vision impairments. This way sighted people can watch the game and people with visual impairments who still want to enjoy the sport have a broadcast that gives them enough detail to follow the game syncs with the picture for the sighted people.

The "neutral announcer" experiment has been an abject failure. As a Sporting KC fan, every week, we end up with "neutral" crew who are, in fact, the long time crew of the road team. The Vancouver game, they called Tim Leibold "Martins" 4 times in the 1st half. The Real Salt Lake formers can't help but bring that grudge into every match they call. In a terrible season, listening to them is awful. Because most don't even try to be neutral. They call it like they're homers still.

@@shawngillogly6873 as a Charlotte fan we do get the Charlotte announcers for about half of our games home and away… They do a really good job at remaining neutral, and that really bugs me as someone who listen to them not be neutral for a whole year. Not only that, they have no excitement anymore. They used to be two of the most exciting broadcasters of any team, because they will get so incredibly animated, and now, regardless of what happens, you could take a nap because they lull you to sleep because they do nothing exciting out of fear of being bias.

The problem with putting the games on Friday in the fall is Friday Night Lights. Friday nights are for high school football.

I love these ideas. I think there are a few small quality of life changes they could make that would go a long way. I have the hide score option enabled but I still have to do optical gymnastics to not see a list of goals scored directly beside the full match replay. I watch the local media team’s video of pre/post match pressers but those aren’t consistently posted and quality isn’t super high. I’d love to see those posted on Season Pass.

I’ll just say about the U.S. Open cup… I can’t ever imagine that becoming part of MLS Season Pass because MLS and everybody in the front office at MLS hates it. The only people that like it, somewhat, are the fans… And even for us, it gets unwatchable because half of the MLS teams treat it like a Sunday league.

And if the USL ever gets their act together and quits postponing the Pro/rel vote, the lower league teams will be more competitive and can take down more MLS teams making it more interesting anyways. I mean I get you have to do some rotation because of squad management, but some teams litterally take their entire next pro team and don’t name a single first team player to the squad.

I agree most of your suggestions. Another quality of life feature could be an option to watch the full game highlights. When you go to a past game There is an option to watch the full game replay but not one for full game highlights. But then the full game highlights are post on the MLS KZbin 15 mins after the game ends. It’s strange. I also like the Friday game of the week idea. And it should definitely be free to build hype and exposure around the league

Great video. Love the coverage. Other Thoughts: They need to make it easier to join the post-game wrap up show when it's live. Currently you have to join the last game being aired and stay with that feed as it brings you into the Wrap-Up show. The 360 show feed doesn't automatically lead in to the wrap-up which is annoying. I love your thought on rolling in USOC & CONCACAF CL, but as one poster mentioned it won't happen. MLS is hostile to the USOC and they would rather that Leagues Cup become more prestigious than CONCACAF CL

Hi. So this comment perhaps goes long, and is days late of your posting, but I also watched a video of yours from 6 months ago and liked your points about the MLS season pass in general. I'm near 40 and honestly didn't give MLS much of a chance or look the last 20 years outside of Beckham and the LAFC franchise. Now it's Messi bringing everyone in. I write that because I'd love to have more content about the history and trajectory of the league and players. I was a teen when the league started and I followed all the World Cup internationals that came over late in their careers. I was a huge Valderrama fan as well as Donadoni. Those are the two main guys I followed. Once they were gone, I admit I tuned out. But I (likely am the minority) loved the classic jerseys and team names. Idk. I just liked that the league had its own identity rather than all the "F.C." type names. That's me, though; whatever's helped the league survive and grow was the way to go. Point being, as you stated, MLS shouldn't be ashamed of what they once were. I grew up and played soccer in this country, not another one. I am proud of my AYSO days. I always called the sport "soccer" in english even though I called it "fútbol" in spanish. I never got to see a lot of those MLS player profile videos you mention since i wasn't following and didn't have a local team so I'd love to know more and catch up. The team profiles were alright, but as you stated, the Chicago Fire one was barely about the team's history.

Love Season Pass. And I've said it repeatedly, it's already the 3rd best sporting product on TV in this country, behind the NFL and EPL. And that's in Year One. Take it over any other soccer league shown here other than NBC'S EPL work. Take it over the NHL, which can never market itself as it ought to. Over the tedium that is NBA regular season. And over MLB, which just never translates to TV well. It's made for radio. That said, I agree. More regular content. More tactical analysis. More insight into what goes into building rosters. Make a documentary of 3 players going through an MLS season. 1 a big name trying to settle in the league, the second an academy player trying to break through, and the 3rd a traded player trying to navigate a new squad. Follow their journeys through the year. Agree on a Friday Night game of the week and 4:30 kickoffs (which I would flex games into those slots based on stories through the season).

ESPN+ is awful because they don't care about anything that isn't NFL, MLB, or NBA. They spend no time on it, resources on it, or effort to make it better. It's just thrown to the wall on a leased feed. Getting away from ESPN was the best thing MLS ever did. And I pray the Bundesliga does too.

I think establishing a flagship highlights show would be pretty good. In England there is Match of the day and it's an event to sit down with your family to sit and watch the highlights of the day live. The analysis is fun to watch but it's not the best standard so if you could combine a good highlights show with high tier analysis it would make people interested to watch every week.

@@dannytradio Inter Miami have signed Messi, Busquets, Jordi Alba, Diego Gómez, Facundo Farías and now Tomás Avilés this transfer window and the only question I have is how exactly are all these players fitting in their squad and how are they working within the transfer restrictions of MLS to make these signings? The league rules are still confusing to me so maybe it would be a good video idea to breakdown how exactly Miami are getting away with these transfers in the existing league structure

If I was CEO of Apple I'd firstly leave but secondly walk back some of exclusivity MLS Season Pass and Apple TV+ has. You're an android family, you surely see how annoying it is with this. I haven't watched a MLS game since this started. I'd like some games to still be on cable, to hell with the idea that cable is dying so it's okay to jump ship. I'd also develop an android app, because it's never made sense to keep yourself away from around 50% of Americans and most of the world.

I 100% agree on having a club specific option. Im a MN United fan and im not gonna pay $100 when i dont care about most of the other teams (especially when they dumped our excellent local announcers). In terms of start times, i would say at least 3 windows. When the season starts in February, i dont understand the logic of starting all the games at night when its so much colder! Saturday afternoon games are also much easier to attend for alot of people.

Big risk. But I think they're taking it because they aren't satisfied with being permanently cemented into being the 'second' league in this country. I think they have right setup to do so. I don't think we'll ever see a fully open system. So three tiers under the USL umbrella is probably the closest thing to pro/rel we'll ever see

The problem with the debate shows is that nobody watches them, Steven a smith espns biggest star gets like 300 thousand viewers an episode. That’s a lot of people, but in context of tv that’s nothing. Also, can the apple stop showing the scores of the games on the thumbnail, I rarely watch games live, I would watch way more if I didn’t know the score going in.
