I'll say this as someone who saw the Swayle drama go down- Rod, the guy who called him out, has straight-up made a video with him since after Swayle apologized. Swayle and his mod makers are also now actively changing the code they initially stole AND have taken down many mods they made that were stolen code. Swayle is a teenager, and he makes mistakes that adults obviously wouldn't do. He's apologized and took proper action to fix what he did. He's also not copying other content creators anymore (from what I know.) I think so long as Swayle doesn't go BACK to stealing code/copying people, then he's fine, and you're fine for interacting with him and playing mods his team made. All love ❤

Personally, gun mods 100% depend on the setting, in my opinion. Hunting/wilderness? sure! Just playing minecraft? nah With the Swayle stuff, it doesn't feel like you're chasing cloat or anything. I also agree that people make mistakes and can change!

I'd argue that minecraft has taken enough creative liberties to make it stand out in comparasion. When minecraft FIRST started you may have a point to some extent, but there completely different(they just happen to have a blocky/pixelart artstyle with mining mechanics which i know a LOT of games do.

When the grass on path blocks breaks, what's actually happening is that dynamic lighting, the way it functions, usually causes updates to blocks around them. So, the grass blocks receive an update and realize they're in an invalid spot and break. Same happens with floating gravity blocks, too, but it's specifically because of how dynamic lights create their light effect that causes the block updates.

i don’t usually talk about things like this anymore, but I’m really glad you understand the situation that swayle found himself in and how it all turned out. It’s been months since everything happened. He knew what he did was wrong and even apologized, which was a big step. I’m proud of him for owning up and trying to change, it’s not easy to admit when you're wrong. tho I felt bad making those two videos, but he knew I didn’t mean it. he told me I was the only one who really helped him grow, unlike his other youtube 'friends.' that left him for some bigger creators (they fell off with that decision LMAO). rs I don’t understand why there are people going after him like, bro it’s been so long nobody cares anymore, they dragging ts like the low taper fade, like you CLEARLY see a difference within his content. @@Barix14 i understand that. the thing is most of the stuff I exposed him for actually involved his youtube friends, who were in on doing a lot of the things. they are the reason some of those things happened. I know who they are, and most of them used him for money and content, they just saw him as an opportunity to get clout (i have proof to back this up), make it make sense as to why they ditched and switched up on him after an alleged 'trash talk' (which, to me is childish esp since most of them are over 20 years old lol) he showed me a voice recording the same day my video dropped, saying how was genuinely sorry also. plus - his youtube friends that switched up are currently doing what he used to do, have mods reskinned and call them phenomenons, port them without permission etc. only reason why no one talks about this is because i havent brought it up yet lol

I wish horror mods weren’t just “Survive this scary creature that will hunt you down” and was varied into all sorts of categories. The fact that this is the new golden age for horror Minecraft makes me hopeful of the horror mods we’ll see in the future. 000.jar is really good because it relies on just making the game just straight up unnerving to play with the random events that happen instead of one singular being that gets stale over time. I feel like the scarier horror mods are the ones that are the polar opposite of Dwellers and instead rely on interacting with the player using the world itself.

Gun mods would definitely be personal choice. When I play with gun mods I usually have other more modern aesthetic mods with it. So maybe have a series that has guns and one that doesn't? Up to you. A trick shot montage just sounds like fun I would gladly watch that as a shorter video or a clip in one of your main vids. Just have fun with it and do what you like. You're doing a good job.

I agree. Gun mods are not my thing either. I think it kind of takes away something special from the game to play with guns. Although admittedly, I am ashamed to admit I did download a gun mod because I got frustrated with the Mi Alliance mod. That mod is way above my skill level but I wanted to play with it anyway. and I ended up dying so many times from trying to keep the Mis from building a colony too close to my base that I ended up downloading a gun mod and blasting them all with a machine gun. I recognize my weakness and I am not proud of it.

yes jim, when you log out and log back in it gives you a few seconds of spawn protection. so tip: if you ever fall into a deep lava pit in the nether just keep logging in and out and you’ll be able to escape. it does take a bit of time but its worth it especially if you have valuables on you

Gun mods are great, especially Timeless and Classics Zero. Pair it up with some mods that add Wendigos/Skinwalkers/cryptids (like the Critters n' Crawlers mod) for some cryptid hunting action. Also if you haven't, I highly recommend checking out the Starving Skeleton mod. It adds giant skeletons to the game, and it's awesome. I personally love gun mods. Particularly in horror modpacks, they just enhance the survival horror aspect for me. Yes, they give you a pretty good fighting chance against some of the entities, which just raises the stakes as you stand to lose that fighting chance. I feel it also enhances the tension in the early minutes where you don’t have gun and are risking yourself to gather the resources to make them. Not to mention the constant reminder to make and conserve ammo. Plus it kinda makes encountering entities that guns DON’T work on all the more scary and exciting.

I think I understand how the entity works now (kinda). If the entity can see you, and there's no blocks in the way, it will force you to look at you, and as you've discovered, if you stare at it for too long, it will attack you. However, if there's blocks in the way of you and the entity, it can't see you and can't force you to look at it. Therefore you should be safe from it until it despawns. (This is just my theory of how it works, since I don't know fully.)

The gun mod is a great idea but it also has it's pro's and con's. Too much of it becomes boring and it can result into not being creative in the making of your videos, but i do love the concept of using the guns simply because most of the horror mods have an insane amounts of health and damage reduction. As many people say, I think gun mods are about vibes more or less, what are you trying to go for exactly? If it's just Minecraft but scary, it might not work, as guns clash with Minecraft's style, if it's more of a wilderness realistic survival thing, then yeah sure, it works well, pairing gun mods with general difficulty mods like temperature or thirst mods (Thirst was taken, Cold Sweat/Tough as Nails) feels like it balances out to me, since the game is generally harder to survive while giving you tools that can help you survive the horror mods, it's about striking a balance of difficulty to make sure the helplessness is still there, while not making things too difficult to the point it becomes frustrating, if done well it can make the game generate a lot of dread.

Honestly I think it depends on the specific gun mod itself. Some are pretty balanced for vanilla gameplay and others aren't. I think they fit decently well with horror mods, especially when you have modern structures in the videos, but you have to be careful with the specific mod you use.

Suggestion if you dont already, maybe invest in a external drive solely for recordings 1-2tb. Maybe use handbrake if you wanna compress your footage to a lower file size, make sure to use good settings tho to not lose too much quality. Also imo guns would kinda ruin the fun of horror mods, making it less intense/scary. Of course its your decision though.
