People hate what they can't understand. Tower is a beautiful map from a better time in R6. It plays so differently from anything else because of all the risks the devs took with the architecture.

It plays like ass. It's 'get flanked lmao' the map. How are you meant to stop the flank? The whole thing has soo many doorways and is soo open and quick match 2.0 is so brain-dead that no-one works together to watch flanks. There's a reason why defenders can't just waltz outside in every other map.

@@unitedairlanes5500 Operator choices (dokk, jackal, deimos, etc). The skywalk also covers a large portion of the flank. The map is big and overwhelming at first, but play with your friends, drone, and flank watch just like any other map in the game.

@@beerjam1147 That's the thing, most people are solo queuing (especially in quickmatch). Moreover, we are in a TDM meta so no-one drones or works together. Additionally, most flanks in siege require going through one or two doorways/stairs that do not have line of sight of where you are playing from. You don't have to dedicate so much effort just to not be flanked. I will concede that tower is specifically designed with this in mind. Rather than large flat area that would be typical for an "exterior" area, tower utilities hallways and stairs to limit the annoyance of this. Moreover, the map have many windows to enter from so defenders will have a difficult time preventing entry. However, I still find the execution of "no exterior area" design lacking in many departments. The breaches and entries into site can be flanked from many different places; thereby making flankwatch incredibly difficult. Since flankwatch is so difficult, no group of five randoms would co-ordinate to do this. Hence, flankwatch doesn't happen and people get flanked. And when people get flanked because they did not expend this large amount of effort into just flankwatch, they feel like the map is unfair and unbalanced. They feel cheated and get annoyed and stop having fun.
