You didn't even mention what GMO has done to wheat, or the grower farmers who kill their crops with RoundUp to get a maximum yield at harvest at our health's expense. The wheat industry is a huge scam if you really dig into the entire process from grain to shelf. Bypass all of that & mill your own bulk einkorn grains. Be smart.

Schmidt Old Tyme Omega Me Crazy Ancient Multi Grain Bread is a favorite, when it's on sale in my local supermarket. If not, I buy Pepperidge Farm Multigrain Bread from my local Costco in a two loaf package. I always try to get multigrain Bread, make sure that there's no HFC and has more than 2 grams of dietary fiber.

As a baker, I would suggest making your own. It doesn't have to be expensive, and in truth, you don't need that much. And it will be cheaper and better than any bread you could buy. Set aside a baking morning. I wish you happiness, and peace!

With a stand-mixer or bread maker to knead dough, healthy homemade bread is one of the easiest and quickest things to make, and it is cheaper, too. I haven't bought bread in years. My personal recipe features flax seed, rolled oats, and honey. Real butter and milk. No preservatives or colors. Easy to freeze and it never goes moldy in the fridge. 10 minutes in the mixer, one hour of rising in a bowl, one hour of rising in a loaf pan, bake, then cool. You will never want to go back!

I love a quality, crisp crust and chewy texture. Here in PNW we have a bakery called Grand Central. They are outstanding! Pricey. I make sure to savor. Freeze, and use every piece.

Well, I’m glad that I’m not the only person who scrutinizes the nutrition facts labels when I’m buying groceries. IMO sliced bread should be an easy source of fiber and should not cut significantly into your sodium, fat, and sugar budget. Thankfully the sliced sandwich bread I usually buy from TJs (Organic Whole Wheat) is pretty good in that regard.

We have been eating Home Pride bread for years. I just had a physical. My blood pressure and cholesterol are low. No indication of diabetes. I will continue to eat the foods I like and stop watching "Mashed" videos. LOL Happy Caturday!

Something that always annoys me is the treatment of nutrition as some sort of checklist. But then, this is America, and there is a conflict between what people want to eat and what the experts think they should eat, and the experts' attitude reminds me considerably of Dr. Sheldon Cooper.
