Soursop, Cherimoya and Sugar apples are not the same thing. I actually recommend the Cherimoya. If there was a must try on this list and a favorite of mine it would be the Cherimoya, Some grow them in Florida I hear. A second favorite of mine is the Jack Fruit.

I gave a presentation on tropical fruits in a sales class in college in 1975. You put together a wide array of fruits, many of which I saw for the first time in this video. There are several I presented that you missed, however. I just wish I could remember what they were. The first time I ever ate a starfruit was on Guam in 1968. My neighbors had a tree and one of the kids showed it to me. He had me pick one and the experience was magical. Crunchy like an apple, but sweet like a grape. Some other neighbors had a mango tree and we would climb it to picj the green mangoes. They are a little bitter, but we ate them like apples, but inside was very firm. There are many different citrus fruits that I tried but I cannot locate them on the Internet. Also, when I lived on Guam, I was introduced to pickled papaya. It is made with vinegar, garlic, salt and the local boonie peppers, which are very spicy. You can substitute with Serrano chilies.

No Pawpaw fruit? WTH its one of the most delicious tasting fruits in the world, taste so, so good like a tropical fruit but they grow in the U.S.A, they used to be very popular, with some States having Pawpaw festivals but now they aren't even known by most Americans, the fruit is hard to grow and if you are lucky you can find a wild tree, they grow best by rivers where they can get half day sun light in the summer and they are super picky about fruiting, like if the winter is too cold or too hot for them you will not see them fruit, that's why its hard to farm them because even with everything going right you can go 5 or more seasons without fruit. Now that's something to try.

An awesome treat! Should be a favorite, crazy good! Grew from seed but seem to die, nematodes? Getting a getting an established tree, sapodillas, crosses, lots of these hideous are awful. Many are stolen by animals, need snakes, way more. Steal everything! My giant mangoes all got taken when away a few days. Where get grow, I’d trade one of a kind for new fruit. Have most, no jackfruits types yet trees too small. Medical plants, most grow but low elevation. Can get everything if trade E. V. Coca not sure if legal but who’d know. Not making cocaine, and it’s boring otherwise, have in Hawaii and seen in Asia. Can get all these easily. They rave about gross common rubbish. Gave away ton fruit, even today a few. Don’t have vanilla bean, but can get. These are commonplace. Peruvian apples grow wild.

@DLexEdition2 жыл бұрын
Something I need to warn you about cherimoyas, while I absolutely love this spicy custard like texture and flavor, the seeds if breached or broken in the fruit, you need to throw the entire fruit out because the poisons in the seeds are far more deadly than the arsenic in a whole pound of ground apple seeds. DO NOT BITE or SUCK ON THE SEEDS! I've known a couple of people that died after not listening to me in regards to the poisons in those seeds.

Damn! I can be so mad when american youtubers think that 100% of their viewers are from the USA and say things like: "if you have never been outside of the US","if you're living on the west coast" etc. The USA has only 330 million people and the world has 7,7 billion, 7,4 billion people are not from the USA. I am not hating or you or anything i just find that annoying.
