I own both of those as well and don't have anywhere near as many rounds through them even combined compared to yours. That's very nice. Have you had to replace any parts such as strikers or recoil springs?
@colt10mmsecurity68 Жыл бұрын
@@john4K47 Yes the recoil spring on my beretta is changed every 6,000 rounds whether it needs it or not. The trigger return spring has broke on me a few times, but it’s a 30 second fix. I usually change it out at the same time I change the recoil spring. At around the 30,000 mark, I changed out literally every spring, extractor, firing pin and locking block BEFORE they broke. The barrel was replaced at the 40,000 round count for good measure. While well worn, It was still hitting bullseyes but a new factory drop in barrel was just so easy to replace so why not? It was just preventative maintenance, like we do with car parts on high mileage vehicles. Other than those items that I consider preventative maintenance, it has not failed. For the Glock 17, I’ve only changed the captured recoil spring as preventative maintenance but that gun has never failed.
@john4K47 Жыл бұрын
@@colt10mmsecurity68 that's cool. I haven't replaced any parts on my Beretta or G17 yet. Because both don't have nearly enough rounds through them. For the longest time I kept the Beretta mainly as a collector's piece and didn't shoot it often.

You right, they are crazy reliable. The one thing I changed was the recoil spring with the DPM spring kit. After testing the 3 springs that come with the kit, I found the middle spring to decrease recoil the best. I believe it decreases recoil by 20%. Thanks for your info. BTW I’ve been on fence about the P365. After watching your videos, I will just stick to my hellcats 🙏🏻

I have been buying and collecting handguns for about 43 yrs. Many are semiautos that are all steel and metal and some are polymer striker fired and also some are Revolvers. I can tell you honestly that I have never had a Revolver that had any problems with the rare exception because homemade reloads only 1 time . This is why me and many others are switching back to from autos back to Revolvers . If there is mass Kaos like a riot or a war like situation thats when I will pack my Gen 1 Glock 17 or my S&W model 915 , but believe me there will be j-frame small 38 cal revolver as a back up . The thing is that Revolvers are not made for long periods of rapid sustained firing and will over heat and that is why Semi autos are used by military armed forces. But thats a exception to the rule and Revolvers are better in most cases. Its funny young man that you apparently dont own one.

You said it perfect. The pico shoots great when it shoots. Its actually the softest recoiling of the tiny single stack .380s. But at the cost of a recoil spring that's too strong. Buffalo bore or underwood will run well. Its ironic. Beretta wanted to have the only .380 in the world rated for the unpublish "+p .380" spec. But ended up with a gun that wont run anything but +p reliably.

Testament to my faith in Glock that my 4th one yes 4th one, I kept going, was amazing. Also I hear a lot about the lcp being unreliable, but I have put a TON of rounds through my OG lcp, my 2nd gen lcp, my lcp custom and my lcp2 with ONE malfunction that to this day I don’t know if it was the gun or the ammo and my lcps get covered in flour. My current favorite pistols are my 320s and 365s, however and this goes to any “swappable style” gun, I have one 365 slide that won’t function with one of my 5 fcus, but it works perfectly with the other 4. I also say any swappable style because, though it functions 100%, my g19 slide which is 100% identical to my g45 slide is a struggle to get on and off my g45 (one has a dot one has irons). Guns are a manufactured good and just like cars, or phones, or computers there are lemons

Pocket pistol triggers are awesome, it's so cringey when people call them garbage. that safety that allows safe pocket carry allows you to hold onto your gun with your hand in your pocket in front of people without them knowing. This allows you to go from a 2 second draw time to a half a second draw time. That could mean life or death. If I see someone who looks suspicious, my hand is on my gun, and none the wiser. It's a significant advantage. Its meant for close range. However, if you work on your grip you can overcome a poor trigger pull.

380 issues are never easily fixed. As a round, as a whole, it’s unreliable. It takes a certain amount of powder to reliably cycle a semi.

sad to say I had issues badly enough with the gx4 I sold it. Sights kept falling out, and worse, I couldn't get a 15" group at 10 feet and the barrel was sheering off. Great pocket pistol till it wasn't

@@spnfirearms really is too bad, good price tag, love the size, and the recoil was pretty smooth. I now carry a csx daily, love it to death

Hey you give some gooood info in this video. Is there a tool that we can test out springs for spec performance?
@tommccormick9290 Жыл бұрын
I had a Gen 5 Glock 19 that ran %100 the first 200 rounds then started having failures to feed nearly every shot. After returning from the factory with a new slide, it then ran reliably.

Awesome content ❤ I wish everyone in the 2a community had the honesty you have. This is not talked about enough. Some of the coolest guns are the biggest pieces of trash❤ you can do all your research but always test your equipment like your life depends on it. Even Glock ❤ for me 500 rounds with no malfunctions is my standard. If it does not perform in the first 500 I get rid of it.

Very smart. The 500 round mark is a great test. I appreciate that man, respect

Isn't that the usual break-in period for most firearms?
@theccwdad Жыл бұрын
@@spook5756 for some guns maybe. If your new car had a break in period where it regularly failed to perform it's duties I think you'd want a different car. For me it's the same with anything. I'm a mechanic so if it does not work from the beginning it's engrained in me that there is an underlying issue or perhaps poor quality. Poly 80s are not fitted well built guns by a gunsmith so they "require" a "break in" to literally wear the parts together. And even then often times result in poor performance. In my experience building 7 different p80s. A properly well built gun is built well from the very beginning and runs from day one. Like a OEM Glock❤️ just my two cents nothing but respect.

@@theccwdadto compare a gun needing a break in period to the reliability of a car motor really isn’t the same thing at all.

that slide on your all custom glock is the same one I have on my frankenglock. I tried making a 3d print build, but could never get it to run reliably (almost definitely just cheap parts) I ended up just getting a PSA dagger frame and haven't had any issues so far, but I don't think I even have a hundred rounds through it yet.

I have a P365. Overall build quality isn't great. The front sight just came apart when I was shooting it. It also has a light strike where every once in a while it doesn't go boom when you pull the trigger. I don't trust if for daily carry anymore. Thinking about a Hellcat or CSX - the concept of a manual safety appeals to me.

I ow many hand guns, most Glocks. The worst gun for reliability in my gun collection is the Ruger LC9s. I’ve had to send it back to Ruger twice for issues that should not exist. Manual safety broke off. The slide locked in the open position and would not close.
@chadparker8198 Жыл бұрын
Tiny pistols and big hands = interference with the slide reciprocation. Also people think they can make up for a smaller caliber/barrel with really hot ammo. Also people try to overload smaller mags and put one in the hole.. all of this is trouble for these little guns. Source- experience
