@@hytellus Couldn't that be said of almost any genre though? Not ball-busting. I actually feel that way about most genres myself. :) There are the ones who invent it, the ones who stand out (usually includes the inventor), and all the rest who just jump on the band wagon. Then the next genre variation/trend finds a foot hold, and the 5 or so bands that were good stick around while the band wagon jumpers die off with only an album or two to their name.

What was so cool about Nu-Metal is the fact that each band had its unique style both musically and the way they looked....orgy,korn,limp bizkit, coal chamber, disturbed, Sevendust, linkin park,static-x,Slipknot, soulfly, deftones(yes we called them Nu-Metal back in the day) etc.....unlike Metalcore all of those bands had a very unique style but all of them were a part of the Nu-Metal scene and god knows how huge that scene was

I believe there's four types of nu metal: Aggressive (Korn, Slipknot, Mudvayne, etc), white boy rap (Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, P.O.D, etc), experimental (Deftones, Incubus, Mushroomhead, etc), and industrial (Static-X, Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, etc). Every nu metal band belongs to at least one of those categories.

none of them are really nu-metal. Hell even Godsmack's old albums were nu-metal but they don't sound identical to any of these stereotypes.

Van Dombrowski lol.. okay.. suit yourself dude.. Corey Taylor can out rap all the mainstream mumble rappers who have become relevant right now. Ofcourse the old school rappers are better than Corey in terms of vocabulary and technicality. Also Fred durst could rap too. Even though I don’t like his rapping.. and Jonathan Davis doesn’t rap for your kind information

porag buragohain Fred Durst spits cornier shit that any “mumble rapper” bro and I can’t think of one song where Corey actually rapped something that held a candle to any rapper old or new

Van Dombrowski I agree about Fred durst.. but for Corey listen to their old material.. lotta quick fire verses which would be a crime comparing them to these mumble rappers..

Yeah, I listen to hip hop - Disturbed (minus the turntables) Palm-mutes & Harmonics - Limp Bizkit Living on that hi-hat - Adema Synth Theory - That's the Spirit-era Bring Me the Horizon Dude, just thrash it up - Disturbed (again) Korn on the Kob - I think that's pretty self-explanatory Master of Suspense - Slipknot? Maybe? I don't know chord theory - Self-titled Three Days Grace (not nu metal but that's what it sounds like) Primal Gr00ve - Slipknot (this time for sure) Abraham Park - I think that's pretty self-explanatory.
