G/M Patricia. It is so important new tarantula owners know about molting. Yes molting is stressful for the tarantula. It can be super stressful for the owner. Another great point you made fresh water is a must. A really good reminder. See you in a week.

Exactly. I was very similar with my first tarantula many years ago - almost forced her to feed and panicked when she wouldn't and yes, i'll admit it - i was very excited having her (Chilean Rose) and wanted to hold her frequently before noticing how uncomfortable she was. Just like you said, people really should find more detail to caring for tarantulas before adopting. Ps. Spidy is beautiful!! How old is she now?❤

Koppe is a Brachypelma emilia, and with this molt, she will get her adult colors. When she has hardened up, I will change her substrate, since it is very full of poop. By calling myself a helicopter owner doesn't mean, that I touch her enclosure, every time, that I check on her. I just check, if she is starting her molting process. 😊

Patricia! Koppe is about to molt any hour, now! 😃🙆♂️ She has positioned herself in a corner in a still positition, her abdomen AND legs, are a solid black and shiny... I have turned into a complete helicopter owner, checking on her every 15 minutes! 😂
