It is a special kind of gemstone. It is called spinel/ Kirinchi. We can find this from Sri Lanka, Madagascar and some other countries. Spinel has high value. Let’s discuss how we could buy well cut spinel gem stone from the gem market. And the points and colors we should concern when we select a spinel gem stone.
There is an advice for the new gem businessmen that none of you can learn about the gem immediately and also none of you can earn profit as you wish at the beginning of your business journey. If you will not follow us you will stop your business at the middle stage. So always we try to discuss the ways we should identify, select and value the gemstones at the gem market. Here we will not discuss about gemology. Because there are many gemology causes you can follow. And also it is not enough you to continue the business. Always we try to advice you the steps for enter to the gem market. So, shall we discuss about the spinel gem stone.
There are variety colors at the spinel gem stone. Pink spinel has high value at the market. Next ruby spinel, blue spinel, purple spinel etc. And also special spinel stones. That is cobalt spinel with blue color. Actually we can’t see this in eye level and we can identify this stone from the laboratory test. And also there is kind of spinel called ‘Tarfite’. It is very rare to find. Shall we discuss about it from another session.
Now we discuss the way how should we find the cut and polish spinel at the gem market. You can see spinel in different colors in here. There is three range of red color spinel from light red to dark red color. Likewise you can see in blue spinel and purple spinel. From there we have to concern about the specialty of the colors.
In this tray in the first row there is a light color spinel. Other two rows are arranged with the darkness of the color.
These three color range are suitable for buy from the gem market. We will discuss from another video about the spinel gem stones which are not suitable to buy for the business. When we buy an out color gem stone we should give low price for that. There are good prices for first row spinel, red spinel and cobalt blue spinel. It is good for you to learn more about these spinel. It will be useful for you when you buy spinel from the market. And also you should not buy spinel which is with lower color than these spinel colors. It is good to buy a high quality spinel gem stone rather than buy a lot.
You can see the padmaraga color of spinel. When you see this colored spinel it is good for you to buy. This spinel is very rare. So there may be berreliumed sapphire at the gem market. These are also just like padmaraga color spinel.
When we were at the Rathnapura gem market, two men came and bought dark spinel for high price. You should remind that dark spinel gem stones are not high value gem stone. So don’t buy dark color spinel. Some people are thinking that dark color spinel can convert to light color spinel after burning. No; it is a wrong thought. No one can change brightness of the spinel by burning. So don’t buy spinel for that purpose. If you spend money for this purpose it will affect for your future business profitability. So don’t buy dark color spinel from gem mines. So everyone should concern it.
Another thing is that don’t use torch to see the color of the spinel. You can use torch to find the damages of the spinel. You should concern the color visible to the eye in the natural light.

We wanted to tell that Muslims are doing their business very well and Sinhalese are not entering to the gem market yet. So very sorry for that miscommunication.
