Great in-depth video review, and absolutely beautiful scenery, really makes me want to come fly there. I fly the LSA version Bristell, which looks essentially the same as the B23 but has lower MTOW. The Bristell is a strong and well-built plane. I guess the B23 has beefed up landing gear, a metal rudder instead of composite and maybe some other strengthening but otherwise looks very similar. I must admit I'm surprised your performance with the 915 wasn't higher. Those figures are not hugely higher than I get with the 912ULS on the LSA (with a constant speed prop), I can cruise at 110 - 120 true at around 75%, and although I plan with 20L/h burn it is always comfortably under.

There are dozens of light sport planes like that on the market - they all are pretty much the same with minor differences mostly around fit and finish.

Beautiful scenery! Perhaps this is a silly questiong but ... do these planes come with air conditioning? You may not need it in the Alps, but here in American SW (Phoenix, AZ) it's absolutely necessary for 6-8 months of the year.

After more research and first hand experience I can now confirm that this video is an accurate reflection of the B23T's capabilities specifically as well as compared to other ("supposedly" similar) types. This video, after raising considerable interest for the B23T, turned out to be the deciding factor in choosing the B23T over other options. Thank you @A Swiss Pilot

I own a Bristell 914. What is the main difference between the B23 and the NG5 (classic) version just same structural upgrades ? They look identical

That’s interesting, because bristell classic drops right wing while on stall , so not very safe for a student pilot. I am currently a student pilot on NG5 though ))

Bristell have been promising IFR certification for the B23 for years, but it has not happened. Tecnam have set the precedent for IFR approval in Rotax powered aircraft so what is preventing Bristell? Until EASA publish a TCDS with IFR approval, this is a VFR only aircraft however sophisticated the avionics on board.

JMB VL3?
@Lagrange197011 ай бұрын
Indeed, will be a great video specially with the level of details you go into. I believe VL3 is a great aircraft and compares well with the Bristell B23. Biggest difference will be the landing gears.

Where is the airport you took off from? The area looks beautiful. I am from Fairfield, California. The 51inch width of the Bristol B23 turbo aircraft Is one of the important reasons thats leading me to buy the B23 Turbo. Tell me about the weather and area of your airport. I am thinking that I could hang out at your airport if there is an flight instructor available that could help me get current on my private,commercial, multi engine, and instrument ratings. I l enjoyed your video,thanks.

We departed at Mollis Airport (ICAO: LSZM). It is about a 1.5 hr drive from Zurich. Weather is fairly nice during spring, summer and fall with snow during winter times. Not much fog but not as steady as California obviously ;)

@ASWISSPILOT Жыл бұрын
Hi!
@muszakm Жыл бұрын
It is not only about fuel consumption. I think that the main advantage is performance which is outstanding in this aircraft. 1200 fpm is amazing in this class and is constant up to 15000 feet. Go to Kunovice and make a test drive. I did last year.

Beautiful plane. The only thing that keeps it from being number 1 for me is the pilot sits to far back from the leading edge of the wing. The DA-40 does a much better job of getting the pilots head almost even with the front leading edge for better downward visibility.

@nappozulp4199 Жыл бұрын
I knew the Risen existed when I bought my Bristell with Rotax 915. I was concerned about dealer support for the Risen and the sturdiness of the Risen. I was thought it might be like the Pipestrell Virus…feeling like it might fall apart without much warning.

I'm sure it's a pretty good plane. Notice that for a good performer like this the socalled impossible turn is not impossible at all. Because it has climb and glide. Unlike a WW2 plane like Bonanza which cannot make the turn back without engine. You say that there is no maintenance because it's a metal construction, isn't it the exact opposite? that a composite fuselage has infinite life and the titanic rivet sheet metal needs occasional repair when it sheers a rivet. Why producers still use ugly fragile labor intensive sheet metal is beyond me. When a single piece composite has to be so much better and easier to make. As for Rotax 915/916, decent little primitive engine but rotax sets increasingly despicable overpricing, now 50k$ for the 916 which is a 912 with a 200$ turbo on it. Which is maybe 20x more than it costs to produce. Just because they can get away with it and people don't object. The what are you going to do about it pricing. Because GA is in a garbage state. If more people objected, Rotax would be more ashamed. Think of them like Trump. they need confrontation. And while B23 is a good plane compared to the awful state of GA, Risen 912/915 is just even better. If B23 is fully certified they might consider adding two kids seats. That would increase it's appeal significantly. And a general point about avionics. Why oh why are these little 'navigators' not just a part of the main display. And the main display should be bigger since display size costs nothing. There is so little thinking going on in GA.
