The cuman camp has several broken walls in the shape of a narrow stairway. Walk up to the top of those "stairs" The melee have difficulty climbing and can come at you only in single file. Most tend to mill around at the bottom "step" unable to pursue. The archers are easy to pick off especially if you have Dollmaker or Bane on your arrows. I like the central location of the broken wall that is just inside the main entrance of the cuman camp with one of the cuman cookpots nearby. Once the cumans are taken down, Henry can run and taunt the bandit camp. They will follow him back to his "stair" wall perch.

Thanks a lot! This video was A BLAST to watch (especially as I recall how much I struggled to SCOUT that camp as a poorly armed, poorly clad & under-skilled Henry, one very dark & rainy night, let alone try to take them all on, single handed! 🤕). I’ll definitely watch your video on this armour build, as I prevaricate between the choice of wearing high defence value, high charisma, annoyingly slow, heavy & conspicuous plate armour… & the option to wear low visibility, low noise, stealthy attire, that leaves you very vulnerable if you’re spotted & caught. This build seems to offer the Holy Grail of combining the advantages of both choices, with very few disadvantages. I also like the combination of the Sprinter Perk with the (7 Mile Boots?) Perk, so you can put some distance between you & your quarry & use hit & run tactics, or “head for the hills” altogether, if you find yourself overwhelmed & taking too much damage. Nice! 😊👍

Just did a whole challenege run with this as my main set of armor and it went quite well. Given that the one I did was a no healing run, for normal playthroughs where you can recover health it's definitely recommened

Heck yeah. My Henry was pretty built at the scouting point (main level around 15-16?). Scouting went pretty well, but I would have gotten absolutely clobbered if I tried to assault the camp. Even with full plate mail, St. Michael's long sword, 18 str and 18 sword skill etc. The trouble with those is as soon as you start anything, they'll all come and gang up on you, and by that point it doesn't matter one jot if you have the best everything. This set seems particularly good for this kind of playstyle, where you can take out enemies in smaller numbers.

funney enough i usually tend to wear the same set of armour (minus the ring and the necklace, since i somehow never saw a use for it, tho way better than swapping clothes before talking to ppl) just because i spent WAY to much time trying to be sneaky and not die in one hit if manure hits the hand fan from an angle. The increased sprint speed makes a lot of sense as well, so i think i will steal that idea. The Ring and the Necklace will become part of the set as well, since 20 Charisma is just plain and simple 20 Charisma and i do not have to carry an extra set of clothes with me for better trades etc

It's honestly my favorite set. I like a full set of heavy armor for some encounters and just for role play purposes I'll keep a set of really nice noble clothes but for main quests, it's perfect. Good for skirmishes, can shift strategies on the fly from stealth to archery to melee combat, and still pass charisma checks. That's why I consider it the best, there's no scenerio it doesn't thrive in

In a single full clear of Priby, I acquired over 20k better arrows and some 200 of a single type of sword. The problem is transporting all the loot before the NPC despawn. If you cannot take everything you want in one trek to Talmberg, try stashing the overflow in one of the chests. It may still be inside that chest when you return even though all the NPC dead are long gone.

Just go into the church and drink. Once you blackout and have the perk you'll wake up in Talmberg with all your stuff so you can transport in one trip

I didn't know how good this armor setup was when I first put it together. Then I would go into some camps standing up and walking pass people they would say stuff but hardly ever attacked me right off rip. After your video on this armour set I decided it would suit my playstyle. I'd intended on making a scum stealth archer build and this armour set suits it perfectly. So far I've only got 2 pieces but the style of "bow until toe to toe" works great for me. Arrow to the face and a bonk on the head works every time.

Honestly for looks I do like the round Cuman metal shields as well. The Noble Dark shoes are great too but for this particular build, I tried them and they made 1 noise :( If you are willing to sacrifice some noise for looks then Noble dark shoes are a fantastic option and the Aachen Dark Brigandine can be replaced with the Dark Brigandine Armor. They both look a little better and provide a little more protection but I think when I tested it that combination with everything else made like 5 noise, still low but not zero that I was hoping for

@Griff_Gaming I hear ya. You can't be posting a build with 1 noise. It's like walking around with your fly down. I think the black brigandine pauldrons reduce your overall noise by a few points but they aren't as strong and they are surprisingly heavy, reducing speed.

Haha true but this armor set is less about just overall damage absorption and more about the things it lets you do (i.e gives good protection while letting you still be mobile and stealthy) so I wanted to showcase it's full all round potential. What would be the point of a "Do-Everything" armor if you don't do everything, right?

@@Griff_Gaming i dont think it will work in later stages of the game, one runaround near Skalitz and it's done, maradeurs gonna squeeze it totally. But it's okay for first third or so and looks good too. I personally prefer to use Aachen Brigantine with a Black Brigantine Pauldrons, it just fits together visually very cool and arms protection not as important as chest generally. In the later stages of the game Henry needs to be a walking tank, especially on Hardcore mode where one single death could take you an hour away. But cool shooting by the way, mastering bow in KCD is not that easy!

I've definately put in my 10,000 hours with the bow in this game, unfortunately about 9,500 of those hours were me missing 🤣🤣 it's true that for larger encounters it might not be ideal but I can try it in Skalitz. Maybe paired with a bit of dollmaker could make it even more viable to keep distance and isolate the bandits. One on one it holds up very well but once you start getting overwhelmed it can get a bit rough for sure

Maybe not the best when the story puts Henry in a situation where that's not an option. On the other hand, the great big hulking walking tank can easily get overwhelmed in places like this, as the enemies will all see Henry coming a mile away and gank him.

some of the cumans and bandits in this camp had 1400 arrows EACH on them. didn't make a lick of sense, but yeah, when i dropped them they were basically carrying and entire fletcher's stock of ammo.

Yeah, great place to load up on arrows. Also some of the cumans and chests in the middle camp have like 30 burgher swords each as well so good place to loot and get your money up to rebuild the town once you clear it

I've done it in almost every playthrough I've done. He doesn't say anything and it doesn't even affect the number of troops the enemy has 😔 only advice I can give is if you plan to do this yourself, make sure not to sabotage any of their stuff before you recieve the quest from Radzig otherwise by the time the quest comes, you won't be able to burn the arrows (since they are already burned) and the quest objectives stays uncompleted. Ask me how I know 🤣

yea it would be great if , they made kcd 2 into immersive sim like deus ex1 where there is a planned dialgoues and reaction for every unusual outcomes it would be fun lets see, use of AI for dialogue generation is just getting started so cant be sure what lies ahead of us....

@@bmqww223 KCD does attempt this. There are many instances where you can stumble upon quest stages you weren’t led to yet but the dialogue adjusts. For example, I hear Capon is impressed that “peasant” Henry has a horse when they go hunting if you bought one beforehand. It’s not always perfect, though. It’s possible to stumble on the coin minting operation by accident, and there is a disconnect between the cutscene and dialogue.

How can you so quickly kill high level enemies? I guess maxed out stats does help out tremendously in that? I'm still at early game and when bandits with good armor shows up they quickly kill me and automatically counter my attacks :( I guess it'll be a long time for me to get to that point, maybe I should train with Bernard..

So i don't have my stats maxed in this (i think maybe 13 strength and 10 agility) but it comes down to 2 things. If you're using a bow, try to focus more on getting better arrows (ie piercing or better piercing arrow) rather than just focusing on a higher damage bow. The yew longbows are great for damage and can one shot most high level enemies but take a very long time to draw. Hans hunting bow great because it has decent damage but a short draw time along with a couple cuman bows (62 damage variety is particularly good). And the most important part, poison, but not the bane potion. Dollmaker because it damages all their combat stats to make the fight more even. I have an alchemy tutorial I'm working on currently going into a lot more detail but the Dollmaker is a GAMECHANGER when going into large encounters against mutiple enemies

Correct. Everything with repair focuses on the value of the item being repaired. The higher the value the more xp you get per repair, more burnout on repair kit, and more it costs to get repaired at armorer/tailor

I wonder how exactly does an armor protect you in this game. For example, zoul plate has 26 slash protection. What does this actually mean? Is it that you stamina loss against slash damage is reduced by 26% or is it that once stamina fully depelted, you will suffer WEAPON DAMAGE minus 26 slash protection as final damage?

I'm not 100 present sure but I think it takes off the damage value, not the stamina. For example, you can have full stamina but no armor and still take significant damage. I think with full plate, it takes the health damage value off whatever weapon is being used. As the gear gets damaged, it provides less protection and the less stamina you have makes you more prone to taking damage. Hope that helps

Assuming you are fully armored but in set A you have 40 slash protection while set B with 30, what exactly is the difference . I personally like metal looking plate than zoul plate. I am just wondering the actual difference for protection values. So, basically you may still receive hp damage even at full stamina and full armor? And this is when protection value actually come into play?

So I'm not an expert at it but it boils down to the layers all working with eachother and how they would do for each type of weapon damage. For instance, chainmail is great for slash protection as the links were meant for a sword to glide across but not good against stabs since swords could be stabbed through. Plate mail was good against slashes and stabs but not so good against blunt weapons since those have concussion damage and still hit with force. Gambesons were really good against blunt force since they padded the blows but not against slash or stab so they get shredded when worn alone. All the armor has its own purpose for what it's meant to do in combat and it all works well together. As far as number values I wouldn't worry too much about it. There isn't MAJOR differences (from my experience anyways) between a 25 vs 26 or even 30 vs 40 rating. Obviously 40 is better but I've always preferred a versatile set. This game isn't like most other RPG's where bigger ALWAYS means better. I like the armor set I built in this video since I still have every slot filled to give good protection against several different weapon types but it's fairly light weight. That means a faster movement speed AND a faster sprint speed AND slower stamina drain. So I'd say find what playstyle you like and optimize a set for that. If you like always doing melee combat, zoul armor is your best bet since it's super tanky. But if you like archery or stealth, put some black clothes on with no plate armor and while protection is low, your nimbleness will offset it so you should be more mobile. For a mix of everything, build this set and optimize if you come across a piece that you like better.

I gave it a go after watching your armor guide. I took the time to aquire some of the set pieces I didnt have already. Sadly it wont protect you when you are fighting 6 Cumans wearing full plate armor and 2 dogs, I died testing it. 😂. So I went back to my heavy armor set. Cause fighting groups of cumans is my favourite activity in this game,and the Rattay tourney. Its a shame captain Bernard stops the training with real weapons when you kick his ass. I hope on the sequel we get more chances to fight more often,like duels. Like a dojo in Rise of the Ronin for example.

Yeah it's def not a tank set but if you like doing a mix of everything (my favorite playstyle) it's phenomenal. Take the first couple out with stealth, take the bow out and shoot a couple then take the last few out with melee it's great, litelarly feel like medieval Batman. Far as Captain Bernard, I know what you mean. You can immediately train with real weapons again and his health recovers but his armor doesn't so if you're using something like maces he gets taken out in like 2 hits the follow up training session. But if you go back the next day he should be fully recovered and you can get a full session with real weapons again. I'm sure KCD2 will have bigger scope for that. I'd imagine the tourneys in Kutteberg will be massive with some of the strongest knights in the area to compete so I think the level of competition will most likely increase because of that

Don't get me wrong,I carry your armour setup on the horse to change clothes for stealth missions and to Rob the armour and tailor at Rattay more easily. @@Griff_Gaming Yeah,it actually helped me out. I am using some of the stuff you suggested on your video and other to offer upper body protection. I can fight groups of Cumans with a mix from your stuff and mine and it's great for stealth too. Not as close as you could get to enemies but allowed me to steal all Rattay lootable shops and guardhouse armour and weapons while I still have protection in combat! So the legs normally don't get hit in combat and therefore am using the stuff you suggested in the legs and feet. Aswell the Coiff from Black Peter as can't be find at any shop or looted from any other enenie in the game. I just changed the helmet, blue combat jupon, dyed milanese brigandine ,hungarian hauberk,simple plate cauldrons. I kept the mail coif and dark saxon gambeson. Swapped the saxon gauntlets for Lords of Leipa Gaunlets( Rattay tourney). More charisma abd aswell less noise and visibility . So am fully protected, got 17 charisma,46 visibility, 51 conspicuous and 45 noise. Prior to your guide my noise was 100,and visibility and conspicuous super high aswell . So I am very thankful. Definetely a great guide and is helped me a lot to be a thief abd still can engage in combat with full armour Cumans I do appreciate your effort and your guide should be spread as gospel ❤️ I would subscribe as a token of gratitude but been subscribed on your channel since KCD1

Armor wise I don't doubt it, and that one is great for the big battles. I like this set for versatility. You can use stealth, bow, and melee seamlessly without changing armor sets. I use this set for "general gameplay" when you don't know what a quest might require from you and you can do a little bit of everything

Cumans are too weak at mid/lategame. Only true challenge high level bandits like ones from the fightt club. They are pain in the ass if u dont use maces. Also Maces are so op in this game. In late game u can 3 strike kill anybody especially while they are not awaire of you. Sprint and stub 3 times. Also sneaking is not needed most of the time. Axe sucks ass, couse we have mace. Not armored enemies not a problem, nevere were. They die from mace almost as fast as from sword. But sword have more reach, like twise. Axe has nothing over mace. Just use heaviest armor you can and have some stealth clotches. But to befair thing that most of enemies dont see you kinda funny. But trustm me you want strongest armor and all the potion buffs when shit hitting the fan. Use swords and maces, shields give you more protection... but also higing 1/3 of your wision and with helmet on it would be almost half... Personally mostly use just mace also 9:11 with a mace he would be dead long time ago... Axes not underrated, they just overperformed. And with strong piercing sword you can also deal with armored opponents. Something like ?llegatus??? I use it all the time but dont remember name, roman inspired sword by the lore. bought it in sasau or looted it from fighting club idk. Sword of Saint also not bad, reward for tourney like 3rd or somwere like it...

You sure did play KCD a lot. But looks like you haven't figured out a way how to be on the offence and aggressive in combat. It pains me to watch you constantly just waiting to master strike. Dude, just go for a clinch, overpower them quickly by spamming a button, you have the stats for it, perform a combo and *boom*, you defeated your foe, effective and with style. It would've worked in so many moments throughout this video. Didn't mean to offend, just want you to think about it and try it. Once I got used to it, mastered all combos and mixed agressive offence and occasional defence in my fighting, I started to crave partaking in this 'janky combat'. It felt soo-soo good and tranformed my expirience entirely. (Memorizing and constantly performing all combos is not that hard, if you put in some time, once you see all the repeating patterns that work accros all weapon types.... But I had to keep list of them on 2nd monitor for some time :D)

So couple things. If you look I actually don't have the stats to use the metal plated battle axe. Everytime I take it out it out in the top right it says I don't have stats for it. So the likely hood of my constantly winning the clinch is not super high. (Also dont think i have the clinch perk since i dont really use that mechanic that much) Second, for this showcase I don't have any combos for the Axe. I think my skill is at level 3 maybe and you don't learn the first combo until level 7. I appreciate the feedback but when facing a whole camp like this I prioritize keeping stamina high so if an enemy does sneak their way around me I don't instantly take damage due to low stamina and have a chance to sprint away and get distance if needed before getting overwhelmed

@@Griff_Gaming yeah, paid no mind to that plack about stats for using axe, haven't played KCD since 2019, figured 15 would be enough. Facing this camp is my favourite place to exercise this playstyle (hardcore mode ofc), you still can engage them in small packs and quickly dispatch of all of them. If your level is high enough, it can be "clinch -> two hits or 3 hit combo at worst" or "masterstike oneshot or followed by a blow to the head" for killing a single enemy, still gives you enough stamina to disengage and keep them from surrounding you.

15 strength is what the axe requires but I think even with perk boosts my strength here is 14. The other thing about going for the overhead strike to the head (to go to the headcracker perk is if they masterstrike you back it's the stab to the face animation (usually) so with this armor being the bell shaped kettle hat it doesn't have full face coverage so while it might end the fight quicker by one or 2 blows, if they counter me there goes a huge chunk of health. There's a lot of different playstyles tbh when playing this game, I've always been more about making each move mean something, focusing on defense and the offense will usually open up. I play Bannerlord a similar kind of way

The combat mechanics in this game is just farce. It's not difficult after you level up and find proper armor and weapons, it's just stupid and disgusting. Even the hardmode doesn't make it any better.

@Vladdy89 it was their first game they did with a studio of about 20 people, there will always be things to improve. I think the second game will be a big step forward for them and now that they've had some experience with developing and patching a game I think the problems will be addressed much sooner

@@Griff_Gaming This is just an explanation why it's broken. Knowing that this is a small studio's first game doesn't make the combat system any more enjoyable. I really hope they will make a proper combat system in the next game, with which they will no longer have any excuses, otherwise I personally won't be able to play this game. I had enough suffering and boredom with the combat in the first one. It would be sad, because overall it's quite a decent game, especially against the big studios production line of shit.

It definitely can be. The foundation is there so hopefully in KCD2 it'll be refined
