Hi, thank you for this excellent video! You addressed all of my concerns in a very clear and satisfying way. I currently own the A7IV, which I use for both photography and videography, and I’m planning to purchase the FX3 soon. I’m also debating between the 70-200mm f/2.8 or f/4 lenses, but I’m leaning towards the f/4 G lens because of its macro capabilities, which would be useful for my product video shoots. Just subscribed!

I'm thinking about picking up the mark ii version of this lens for corporate conference work.

How are the macro capabilities as compared to sony 90mm macro?
@joshrexford13 күн бұрын
I haven't used the 90mm macro so I can't speak specifically to that...but it's a solid macro lens. It definitely won't give you the 1:1 ratio that the 90mm will, but at 200mm it still delivers a great, close-focused image and the versatility of having that option in a more traditional telephoto zoom is super nice.

@joshrexford I am also considering getting a 2x telecomverter with it so that I don't have to carry a 200-400 type lens and with teleconverter 1:1 macro seems possible

FYI - the Sony 135mm GM is a great lens but it’s only f/1.8 and not f/1.4. Canon’s version is the same. I’ve got both and bought this lens also. Very satisfied with what it offers and I’m just a stills shooter. Thank you and take care.

Ah yes, my bad there - thanks for that clarification!

Subscribed! Thanks for the thoughts on the 70-200 f/4. The Mark 1 version has been on my radar for the longest time and I never pulled the trigger simply because my work rarely requires a 70-200mm.

So glad it was helpful! I was in a similar boat honestly, hadn’t used a 70-200 in years but when this mark ii came out it felt like it checked the boxes I needed and it’s been a great purchase.

Do we really need nearly three minutes of biography and build up on a ten minute review of the product?
