It's been 5 years since we started farming as a hobby in weekends while working in IT firm in Bangalore and we saw tremendous change in our life and lifestyle by starting farming. I am a student of agriculture and this video has taught me way more than what my degree did. We were practically taught to use chemical fertilizers and pesticides. It's so disastrous. I hope even the teaching bodies take up such practices so that one day we could all be organically strong like Sikkim.

Even worse is when you see people with little or half-baked knowledge adopt some little drop of info and start misusing it, dangerously. I remember one day seeing one workman crouched on the ground, holding a bottle of liquid in his hand, intently dripping the liquid onto the ground, I went close and asked him what it was and he said it was a special "medicine", and he had noticed some ants cooming out of a hole in the ground, and he wanted to kill it all. I was aghast! It was some kind of pesticide, and he was pouring it at the roots of a tree. Here I was, trying to protect the land and here he was, applying his free will- he had not understood anything of what I had been advocating so far! I immediately told him to stop and gather all such chemicals in my property and keep it in the sun on the terrace, hoping that the sunlight will degrade them. I used Neem oil and soap to get rid of aphids. And I'm going to introduce Marigolds as a pest attractor. But I'm fighting a lone battle against big powers. I have seen empty tins of Monsanto's ROUNDUP which is distributed free to all villagers for making the rice harvesting fastrer simpler and according to a 'Plan'. I'm in Kerala, btw.

You are an inspiration sir. I belong to farmer's family. My father used to do agriculture but we shifted to city for our education and agriculture was shifted on contract basis. It's irony that we kids were kept away from our ancestral work. Now I am getting back to agriculture after B.tech, MBA. Bought small land near our residence to keep my kids close to agriculture and farming. Now I am going to start permaculture farm in this rainy season. I have left my land free from everything for the last 3+ years. Just did ploughing. Inspiration comes from you sir...

This is real inspiration🙂.Everyone think agriculture is low class career. Some people even laugh on me when i say i am horticulturist. But they don't know farmers are magician. So instead of doing other careers which have lots of competition go for agriculture.

विनय जी के इस महत्वपूर्ण, सराहनीय, भगीरथ प्रयास के लिए बहुत बहुत बधाई, शुभकामनाएं और धन्यवाद। बहुत अच्छा और सुखद। लेकिन टिप्पणियों में हिंदी का अभाव भी उतना ही दुखद जबकि पूरा-पूरा वर्णन विनय जी ने हिंदी में दिया बावजूद इसके सभी टिप्पणिकार अंग्रेजी झाड़ने में लगे हुए हैं यानी पूरी विडियो देख कर भी विनय जी से कुछ सीखा नही। पुनः एक बार विनय जी का आभार।

Permaculture is a wholesome technique used all over the originally from the Pacific to India and from South-Africa to Scandinavia onto the Americas. Helas it was forgotten in most of the to be rediscovered in different places at different times. I live in a country where it's called biological/free range farming and it's gaining a lot of ground amongst farmers. I must say I see a lot of these clips who are made in India and I think it has to do with Hindu and Buddhist believes that the world needs to be balanced and by disturbing that balance will bring only harm. I also happen to know Native Americans (both in the North, South and Middle), Pacific people like the Native Hawaiians and Aboriginals had knowledge of the importance of responsible soil use and conservation. We are finding more and more evidence that humans actively maintained the forest untill the contact it seems with Europeans who lost that ability long long ago. They brought disease, corruption, war, destruction, death on a scale never seen before and this lead to the downfall of most of these wise civilizations who long held the secret of perfect soil use and living with nature not trying to dominate it. I'm happy to see evidence we are rediscovering it so fast and as a European male from a former colonial power (the Netherlands) I'm sorry for all the harm we've caused.
