29 here. And even though I maybe alot younger. I can say as someone who was gaming from a pretty young age I don't see why I would ever stop. I like playing games and it would be silly for me to stop because I got older. Should we stop watching fun movies and only watch documentaries? Sakaguchi makes games because he's loved them since playing in his 20's naturally the guy would still love games. I love seeing people in their 40s, 50s and older playing because it shows how normal it is. It's a weird stigma that has Carried over from our Parents and grand parents generation. But gaming has been around for so long now, almost 50 years? Even longer if you count the arcade scene before electronic gaming. Thanks for the share and game on man!

I am 55 now & will die many many years from now while playing a Final Fantasy game! Sakaguchi seems like such a lighthearted fun guy I feel they'd reveal his "new" side quest and say "So the new Sakaguchi written story? It's Hildibrand. It was him all along. He did the whole thing and we couldn't actually stop him." And then he'd do that surfer hand sign he does to the camera.

Love me some Sakaguchi news. I actually saw him in person once at an Earthbound Papas concert (Nobuo Uematsu's band name at the time), but didn't even realize it was him at first until someone else figured it out and asked if he could sign something. I think it was a copy of The Last Story. The lights were all off for the concert, so it was hard to see. He had a small entourage with him, though that might just be family?

Yes! What a legend!! PS. On the note of the begining of FF, the financial crisis on Square wasn’t really correct. It was a gamble for Sakaguchi whether he should continue on his gaming career or go back to the college. Sakaguchi confirmed about this story years ago although I don’t exactly remember where I read it.

Final Fantasy is as old as me. From 1987 to this day, and still going. It has forever integrated itself into my heart. And the fact that the father of Final Fantasy plays as a Paladin is a big deal for me, because Paladin is my main too. Big thanks to Sakaguchi and Yoshi-P.

Iirc The " Square almost went bankrupt" story came from an old, OLD interview from tye late 90's/early 00's. So it's a pretty well circulated piece of information from way back when (whether it was true or not). Granted, considering how many times SS/SE has nearly gone bankrupt since tyey entered tye gaming space, it's not too eantirely farfetched.

What I know and have read years ago was not because they are going bankrupt. Sakaguchi originally wanted to name it as Fighting Fantasy but the title was already taken. Still he wanted the abbreviation to be FF so they came up with Final Fantasy.

This is so cool. Sakaguchi is a true legend. I grew up playing all the original FF games. I still believe FF7 is still the best game ever made. I sunk so much free time in high school playing it. I remember playing all the early games as a kid with friends drinking soda and staying up all night. I came back to FF14 recently because I quit in ARR because it was horrible. I’m getting through it now and am almost done with it. Enjoying the game now. Unlocking PVP was huge to break up the grind. Thanks watching some your videos help get motivated to push through it. Avoiding all the MSQ stuff has been hard but haven’t had anything spoiled yet.

I mean, if he failed(Sakaguchi) I might not have ever loved half the games I would have. If Ff failed in the late 80's, absolute gems of gaming such as Secrete of Mana and Chrono Trigger would never be. Some of the best games ever created in their respective fields. Or the genre of rpgs as a whole. When I realized what that picture was I almost got a little choked up. Thats very sweet of the community to dress up as all those characters for the creator. This is a really good story. Thanks Quazii. Can't wait for them to get together and yes I would love for Sakaguchi to do anything in 14 if he wants to have some fun.

Not wanting to be that guy........ But I am gonna be that guy. Well actually, While yes the reason for the "Final" in the title is a half truth. He stated in a interview in Famastu that he wanted the title too be short like "FF". But originally he wanted to call it "Fighting Fantasy". But because of financial restraints and obvious company finances. They couldn't have the rights to that. So thus became "Final Fantasy". Also at 9:23 Kain (The Dragoon) FFIV and Bartz (Guy in Blue left of Kain) FFV are in the wrong positions. But overall I really appreciate that you have been covering Sakaguchi sama and paying him so much respect. I just wish people appreciated his work with not just the work at Square. But also his time making games with Mistwalker.

This "meeting" just wasn't more epic because their avatars aren't similar to their real-world counterparts. Yoshida already has his avatar and it looks like it's possible to make a character that resembles Sakaguchi. At least the Jenomis model exists...
