Publishing is a business. The goal is profit (book sales). Publishers publish books they believe will sell. It has nothing to do with with the author’s talent or education. It’s got nothing to do with whether they like a story or not. It’s all about sales potential.

People have to remember it wasn’t just that she kept going after publishers after getting rejected. She also spent about ten years studying English lit, had read so many books, and had tried writing and publishing many other books before Harry Potter. She would also re-write Harry Potter a couple times to fix her mistakes. She didn’t just nag her way to success. She literally like committed her life to this goal. And there weren’t authors at this time who were like famous celebrities. So it’s not like she had an idea of how to do it by copying someone else. No wonder she was depressed!!

You need to sit down and make a step by step plan on how you'll achieve your dream and in what time frame. And stick with that plan. If you need to find a meaningless job for a while to support yourself, do it. It will be hard at first, but don't give up. Support from the parents it's really important. If there is just a little chance to make up with them, take that chance. They will love you no matter what you do. But, sometimes when their kids don't want to follow the plans they made for them.. it kinda bugs them out. They think they know what is best for their child. Don't get me wrong, sometimes they do, but they need to let it go for some time so the kid can find himself. I wish you all the best.

As I was new to the happy potter series, I thought she was one of the richest in her childhood. After I read this story it shocks me, her “come up” is amazing!

The only way to success is never give up.If you fail for the first time then you try the next time if still you don't get success try again and again because one day you'll definitely be successful. It's not about committing suicide or losing hope ,you can always be successful if you are hard working and never lose hope. It's all because of JK Rowling's effort and hard work that she is now the most renowned and richest author of the world.Hats off to JK Rowling.

One lonely mother with her baby completely helpless , in a deep depression.........her brain decides.......I'll commit suicide, I'll definitely commit suicide . But somebody from somewhere wanted to save this great writer..... After that it's a history. Nowadays we teens are reading her books with great fascination, but do we all know the real fascinating story behind it? We follow Harry Potter today but can we follow Rowling? Success comes from hard work, nothing else can bring that to us.

@@janopgt5145 touche. After 3 yrs I realised, had it not been for the 8 years old, Rowling's hard work would have been in vain. No matter how magical her writing was. It was luck what brought her work to us. And yea...genetics..that does play an important role ...a very important one.

1 am 19 and I am also an author. I just self published my work at Amazon and yeah, it is definitely hard. The process of writing is difficult itself but the process of marketing is way harder. But with this inspirational story, I was awakened to not give up. I still believe that someday, my novel will be successful. Thank you♥️
