thank you, this was so enriching, my background is striking only basically; most videos are either super specific so it goes over my head, or are painfully fragmented in 7 videos of 3 or 4 min. with intro, exposition, contextualization, recapitulation all over again for each aspect. thanks, really appreciated!!

MAN!!!! love you channel! Thank you so much. I love how you are breaking down positions and options with fundamentals. I love how you teach. Really amazing. I like that you aren't just focusing on moves and instead giving overall views of the positions. Thank you!

Does anyone have opinions on this for shorter legged people? I find that if I'm mounted on heavier people my knees don't touch the ground. If they're skinnier, my knees touch but I can't always spread my knees out creating the larger base. I'll try looping my ankles underneath their bottom would like some suggestions/thoughts. Thank you.

Great video. A question though, if you keep your knees wider, couldn't the opponent do an elbow escape? I've seen some videos where they discuss the importance of keeping knees tight to prevent this.

It's crazy that I learn way more off youtube videos, compared to going to class. I feel like they created the classes that way, to keep people from obtaining belts very quickly.
@mrdune54796 ай бұрын
I don't think it's that. I feel that jujitsu classes need to be for the entire class. If you wanted to fast track through jujitsu you'd need to hire a personal black belt to teach you from the ground up at your own personal pace. I feel like I learned more from these videos too because it goes to the most basic of things which they don't really focus on in class because everybody ranges in skill level

can you some follow up about your partner inverting in your high mount?
@TheGrapplingAcademy5 жыл бұрын
Just swim your arms in and never let their feet cross in front of you so keep your head lower and your hips pressing back more to prevent this situation often found with flexible or lanky grapplers escaping mount. (-: Tom Davey
