In your dinning room, take the white chairs and put one in each corner of the room. Then you can bring them out when you need to use them.

You might consider trying your long skinny dining table in front of the back patio doors, which would give it that family farmhouse vibe, even if you have to leave the end chairs off, and you could use the little round one in the dining room, giving it a roomier yet intimate feel. You could even put one of the extra dining chairs in the corner with a pillow on it. And the barstools definitely look better without the cushions. Enjoy the process!

Marie, I'm so happy for you, Mikah - Loki. Also so glad no stairs for your knee issue. Love the living room, it's so cozy. With the fireplace on, oh so cozy for sure. I love the kitchen nook area. This house is just the coziest family house for the three of you. Loki's so sweet. Get different cushions for the bar stools. I love your room. Your bed on that wall. Why dont you bring that white chair from the living room & use in your room for reading area. That way fireplace is opened up.

I would def put that arch mirror behind the tree by your craft room. For the stools, match a paint to your cabinets and paint them. Or just remove the cushions. That looked better than with the cushion. I think some artwork over your bed would be perfect instead of a whole new bed

I wouldn't get rid of any of the furniture or the decor that you absolutely love until you buy a house and know exactly what you wanted it. You're renting right now and things can change. Thank you for showing the aftermath of moving in. I hope that you Micah and Loki are able to stay here for a while and get settled in and be comfortable. I love the single story house It's good for you with your knees and Loki with his hips❤ I like your table in front of the sliding doors You can sit there and watch the birds outside or enjoy the morning sun.

I would keep your kitchen stools the way they are but buy new cushions for them in the same colour as your upper cabinets. I also think your bed works but it's the nightstands that don't work against the black wall.

For the shorter trees you can buy a plant stand that will elevate those trees to taller . Leave the bar stools just get different seat cushions that have the Navy and as close to that oak color that you can find that are draw them in and blend the chairs to the rooms. You could always take the chair that's in the living room by the fireplace and put that in your room for a reading nook until you move into a more permanent home and just get a slipcover that blends with your room... Just ideas. Love Loki 🥰

I think the wicker lamps that you had in your entry would look really nice in your bedroom against that beautiful wall. The bar stools look fine to me, I like them better without the chair pads. I think simple little pot stands would help with your trees to lift them up and make them seem taller. Congrats on the new house, its lovely and I have no doubt it will be beautiful after you decorate. Can't wait to see what you come up with.😊

Hi Marie. Maybe if you put your trees in baskets you can raise them higher. The arch mirror would look good in that little hall where you put the tree. I like white & navy. The bar stools match your counter top. Your next home may not have those color cabinets. Honey don't spend money you don't have to, Lokey likes his kennel. Interior design is hard with animals..lol..I have 2 crates in my bedroom & 2 dog beds in my living room & I'm sick of looking at them. Board & batten wall .... hang art work with command strips.

Consider natural woven material/seagrass type cushions for the bar stools - to bring in more texture, which would go niceley with the natural color of the cabinets. So that it doesn't look crowded, perhaps move the two white dining room chairs to a wall and topping with a beautiful wood serving tray, or moving them to your bedroom...or moving the chair in front of the fireplace to your room. So many options you have with the pieces you already have on hand I know whatever you decide upon will look lovely. The board & batten is the art piece, so no additional art pieces required in my opinion. I've never seen a bedroom that I wanted to have for myself more than your new beedroom, it is gorgeous! I love this house so much!

I’d move your small chair from the living room that’s in front of your fireplace into your room and get a cute table for bedside it and I’d also remove 2 of the chairs from the small table to make more room and it won’t look cluttered and could you use the cute table you said you were going to store in the garage in the media room instead of having to buy one 🤷 just my opinions lol it’s a beautiful home Marie

Hi Marie, I really like the white bar stools, why don't you try changing out the white cushions for the carmel color cushions or perhaps the straw type cushion. Also, I had a thought concerning the arch mirror, how would that mirror look behind the tree in the hall where your craft room is. Hi Marie, me again… first let me say, I love the bedding and nightstands all of that looks soooo good against that amazing accent wall!!! Luv the white head board against dark color of wall and the brown lamps bring in another color as well! I would leave that wall and not add any art!( it is an art piece itself) in the little window hook, you could always add a big stained or painted board on top of the kennel so it works as a side table as well for a reading nook. Then just add a nice chair and lamp. Just my thoughts.😉 I like the white kitchen stools but if u want them the cabinet color u could take one of the doors off cupboards and take into Home Depot and have them help u find a stain of paint that matches and then Just re stain/paint your existing stools. 👍

I’m in love with this beautiful house ! You are correct it just looks warm and cozy but still feels light and airy at the same time . Personally I would keep the white bar stools and try to find cushions in the same colours as your cabinets and navy blue ones as well so you could switch them with the navy for the fall and winter and the cabinet colour for spring and summer. You are doing a fabulous job of using what you have in this new space . I wish you both all the blessings and happiness in this new home 💕

The curtain rod you might be able to pull apart in the center and lengthen it. I think there is a seem in the middle and the poles go into each other. Beautiful House!

In your dining room, you could use curtain tie backs to alleviate the issue with how the curtain rods were hung. I also have my living/dining room set up the same way in my house because we have a long skinny living room. Our "dining room" I use as a formal living room/hang out space for when we have guests over. I also do puzzles and hang out in there sometimes.

You could always get bigger pots for your trees and put something in it like a paint can to sit the tree on so it gives the illusion of a taller tree. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also I love your idea of changing the bar stools but the hassle of finding the perfect match, I personally just wouldn’t. I would take the cushions off of them though makes it go from shabby chic to farmhouse

Hey Marie....can the arched mirror be hung on the wall? What is the height in relation to the 2 rectangular mirrors? If the arched mirror can be hung, maybe you could use it in the middle with the rectangular mirrors on each side over in the dining room where you are moving the sideboard away.

I actually Love this house!!! Loki looks so content. I think this house feels so much homey. Definitely swivel the TV in the bedroom. A taller headboard would look nice, & the lamps need more presence. Give yourself grace & time to settle in. LOVELY home❣️ My house *raised 2 daughters there* was only 800 sq ft. *my craft room was the entire attic - also 800 sq ft. Boy, do I miss that.

I love the house! So many possibilities. I think the style of the bar stools is clashing with the house/kitchen. This may sound crazy but I’ve done it before; take one of the cabinet doors off and take it to a place like At Home (they sell a lot of bar stools) or any other store that sells stools and try to match it up. Doesn’t have to be an exact match. Also I like your idea of a bigger bed/taller headboard with a black frame.

Just my opinion, I think the white barstools with the cross-cross back against the blue counter base give your kitchen a beachhouse/ocean vibe. Maybe paint them to match the cabinetry. And another suggestion is a round rug under your round kitchen table.

Hey girlie, that was a great tour of the aftermath of moving! I love the house and what you’re planning! I’ve always been a renter, so I never want to hang anything ever so it’s an inspiration! I just wanted to point out that you don’t like the brown lamps in the bedroom because they don’t work with the floor… If you change your kitchen barstools, they’ll be really close to the floor, I don’t know if that’s the same color as the cabinets, but just something else to think about! TFS!❤❤

I hate when people post advice that seems judgemental so I apologize, but please don't get rid of Lokis crate! I totally get it that they aren't pretty, I have 2 big dogs also, and I have the same crates. It's amazing that Loki is such a good boy with all the changes he has been through with houses, so I wouldn't have the heart to get rid of his crate that he finds such comfort in. No judgement, just my opionion.😊

Love the house, i know sometimes you like our opinions but i feel so bad when i say something or voice my opinion lol but remember this is your home you decorate to what makes your heart smile everyday, just decorate your home the way you want because you have to look at it everyday.. i do want to say or ask about the mirrors in dinning room, i tried to invision this but i just cant see mirrors like tht in a dinning room who knows it could look amazing i would just set them up temporarily and leave it for few days to see if your gonna like it. Im anxious to see tht outcome with the mirrors in your dinning room

Look for cushions that match the cabinets for the barstools and let that be. For the little dinning area off of the kitchen by the sliding doors move the mirror and get painters tape and put up squares to the size of the pictures you think you want to put there. For the mirrors in the hallway keep the two that are there and work with those. The plant that is by the sliding door change that one that is by the craft room and see how it looks by the slider and put the one by the slider by the craft room. Keep the headboard the way it is and decorate around it and that black batten wall. If you want a sitting area use the one chair by the fireplace that is blocking and move it in your room for now by the window. Move things around some more and see how it feels. You can also use painters tape for the two other mirrors you are thinking about for the 4 combo but for me I think two would be perfect.

You have many of the same decorating styles in that house that we have in our new home. I found bar stools, after an extensive search, at the At Home store. They also have home decor and art work. I love what you said about having the size of house that fits you. Although we are 68 (me) and 71 (hubs), we worked our butts off and I am still consulting on a part time basis. We bought a house that is 4,200 sq ft. It has two floors and a finished basement. People think we are nuts. lol! We are very happy! I can’t wait to see how you decorate! We have some huge walls in the living room that are changing me. Have fun! You’ve made great progress!

I also would keep the navy blue pillows in your living room it’s pulling everything together. I’d also use your console table the big one in your craft room or guest room or even you could put it in your massive closet lol. You will figure everything out you always do!

Love the office and dining room with all the black it goes with the style of the home, and those rugs are perfect in those rooms. Keep that look going throughout the home and you will have a beautiful look. The 4-mirror idea is also great. And please don't cover up the black wall behind your bed with any pictures. Lol Also, you can get taller wider vases for your faux trees and make your trees look taller by raising them up in the taller vases. Yes. The barstools need to go lol. You are on the right track just keep each room flowing into each other with semitry. A lot of black goes good in that home. ❤

I agree with the barstools, they are nice, but maybe nautical. You know what this is your home and you have to be happy. Having a channel also gives us ideas, so go fot it I say. You can keep them, or sell them and get what your heart and style wants.

If you have some small tables you could put your trees on some tables so they look taller. Also, you could put the round table in the dining room and the long skinny table behind the sofa in the family room. Extra chairs could go on the side walls in the dining room or flanking the window.

I just got to watch the rest of this and the stools look amazing without the cushion. But if you did get some wood, toned ones, those would look good as well, but I just feel like you need to tie in the white of the kitchen more. Either way it’s going to look amazing when you’re done whichever route you go.

Oh girl, I don’t envy you on getting settled in, but you handle it so well. And already have so many decoration ideas! I love where you put the round table! If you had a party with family/friends over, it’s fun to have various sitting areas. I like all of the updates that you mention wanting to do - you nailed it with the little details that need to change. So cute when Loki grabbed his shark and went into his kennel. ❤ I bet you could get a handyman to build him a cute “house.” This was a great video!

For the kitchen bar stools. I do like the white but I agree with u that it's a different look than farmhouse. It reminds me of a beach vibe the way it is now. Marie I would leave barstools change cushions. I love the other persons idea of the long table in front of the doors and round one in dining space. Also your bedroom looks great. Those bed colors against that wall gorgeous. Just change the lamps. How about the gold ones from the office. I feel like that would pop against the wall. Furniture in bedroom is great. Could you add an oak colored cushion to the bar stools? I think the white looks great. I also think the white of your bed pops on that wall! Lamps will make a huge difference. If you absolutely want a taller headboard, maybe put a large mirror behind your existing one, like you did with the bedside tables in the former house. My craft room still looks like that, except I moved a few years ago. 😂😬
