@@Pietop It's worth noting that the shift away from UL was tied to the growth of backpacking vloggers. Once they incorporated drones, extra camera gear and batteries needed to produce the improved content to attract more viewers, a 5lb base weight was impossible. I toy with 5lb base weights in the summer to see if I can do it, but it's not as enjoyable as having some of the gear I have to give up to accomplish it. Thanks for offering your take.
