I generally love your reactions and I love this movie so I clicked it the second I saw it. I'm sorry people gave you crap about Forest Gump (I guess? I never watched that video) but I feel like it sucked all the fun out of this one watching you try to prove a point about the last one. I guess that was the point, though, so you made it. I did miss the normal MrLBoyd though. Anyway keep your spirits up and I'll check out the next one.

I really do appreciate your candor and the way you have broken down films on prior reactions. Misery is one of my all-time favorite thrillers. Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed with this one just because I happen to love this film and was so looking forward to watching you go through the story and enjoy the psychological aspects of the film. But this whole sarcasm banter for the entire reaction just was a bit of a turn off. You generally are Very logical and rational in your reactions and it's been very entertaining to watch. It's unfortunate people have an opinion on certain things and then express it in such a distasteful or angry or Cruel Way. And I'm assuming this was happening with a lot of comments on your Prior reaction video. I hope that future comments will be more supportive of your channel and videos in the future.

I wasn't put off by the fact that Buster knew who Paul Sheldon was, despite not looking like the romance novel type. They seem to live a in small town where everyone is on a first name basis and knows everybody's business. In a town like that, a romance author may as well be the president; he's some kind of celebrity, and since he comes back to that town to finish every book he writes, that gives them some kind of claim to him, and small town pride.

I know you’re being extra cautious about taking people’s backstory into account when assessing or reacting to movies. I want you to know that I watched your reaction to Forest Gump and your take on Jenny. I loved your perspective and you broadened my own interpretation and helped me see my own limitations based on my own backstory. I now believe that, yes, Jenny deserved sympathy for her backstory and yet I totally agree that Jenny was toxic for Forest and it wasn’t the healthiest person to obsess over for decades. Your perspective is valuable to me personally and I’m thankful you were honest. Trust your skills and insight and hopefully people will be open to learn something new even if it challenges their convictions.

Jenny was never good for Forrest. But, his reaction assigned machinations to her behavior that never existed.
@GaryRPeters
@GaryRPeters Жыл бұрын
Yes. Exactly. Two things can be true at the same time. Jenny didn't deserve to be treated like she was growing up, or by all the crappy men she met due to poor judgement as a product of her upbringing. And while her treatment of Forrest was also a product of that, Forrest didn't deserve it, and as an adult, she needed to figure out how to heal herself. Not easy, but essential.

Not to start an argument or anything but aren't they both mentally unstable? When I watched your Forrest Gump reaction, I was a little surprised at how harsh you were of the Jenny character since you actually get to see what she went through as a child. However, by the end I totally understood where you were coming from and felt like you were totally justified in feeling that way about her. Then I watched this reaction. Why oh why did I not watch this reaction sooner. Fantastic. I started feeling something different when talk on anything remotely to do with cinematography, photography, or more simply just a aesthetic observation became notable by it's absence. A few minutes later I spied what was actually afoot (foreshadowing pun, I will admit) and fell in love with the concept. My only dismay is you later telegraphed what you were doing. I wouldn't have minded so much, but to do so just to hopefully appease the lowest forms in the comments section, while depriving the good folks of the obvious shenanigans at play; was not a good decision, I feel. Still, such a very joyous and fun reaction. Well played... for the most part. ❤

Did I miss the part of Forrest Gump where Jenny held Forrest captive in her house in the middle of nowhere and drugged him and assaulted him and MAIMED him because she was so obsessed with him? I mean, I caught the bit where she rejected him and chose her own self-destruction over him, but... these two things are not at all alike. ;) That said... I do agree that you have the right to your own opinion on any given character and appreciate your protectiveness toward Forrest because he is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.

He knows who Paul Sheldon is because Paul Sheldon wrote all the books for that series staying in the same little B&B in that same little town, probably stayed there for months at a time over years (it's a long series), so undoubtedly it would be something that pretty much would be known by locals, and more so the town sheriff who probably knows all the ins and outs and goings on about town. The local general store sells all those books because it's a claim to fame for that little town. I like your reactions. But that was a weird comment. Small towns that aren't close to other towns can be very insular little worlds. Yes, he would know even if he never read a page of the books.

Bro. Here's some sarcasm: "It's impressive to see a man feeding off his emotions."--Detective Somerset from the movie, Seven. I watched the Forrest Gump reaction. No doubt there were some harsh comments but the majority were simply trying to explain what you missed. I find it strange that you've failed to see these were folks who enjoy watching your reactions and were wanting to interact with you and help expand your narrow take on Jenny's character. It was quite obvious that you failed to see the underlying beauty of Forrest and Jenny's relationship. While a bit of sarcasm directed on those who left harsh comments would be understandable as you're entitled to your opinion, nearly 45 minutes of sarcastic commentary during an unrelated film was petty and a missed opportunity to share genuine thoughts with viewers who liked you enough to wonder what your take on THIS top notch film would be. If no one else has said it, I'm sorry your feelings were hurt when others didn't share your 'Jenny's an irredeemable, toxic, user and liar (when it comes to little Forrest's paternity)' mindset. You should turn off comments if they are going to affect you in such a negative way.

Novril is a fictional drug. In the book Paul Sheldon becomes addicted to the painkillers that Annie Wilkes forces him to take, and his days come to revolve around her dispensing his medication, more than food, water, or his bedpan; even when he contemplates escape, he wonders and worries about cutting off his supply. Per stephen King: "I wrote [Misery] when I was having such a tough time with dope. I knew what I was writing about. There was never any question. Annie was my drug problem, and she was my number-one fan. God, she never wanted to leave."

Dude, I saw your Forrest Gump reaction and took your comments about Jenny in stride, as they were honest for you. I didn't agree with them, but I don't always feel the same way reactors feel about things. That's part of what makes reactions interesting to me. I was pretty psyched when I saw you'd posted a reaction for one of my all-time favorite genre films. This isn't a reaction, though. It's a person with a following of almost 15,000 subscribers (of which I have been one for some time), giving the finger to an entire movie (and a brilliant one at that; you missed out) not to mention the many people who are fond of your reactor work, people who choose to watch your channel over another person's channel, and support you with views and comments and likes and subscribes; and we're basically presented with this weird, passive aggressive attempt to seem like you don't care what people say. You obviously do. And that's okay. It's okay to be honest and sincere. This video seems to be neither. That being said, I'm obviously in the minority on this comment thread and you'll do whatever you do. I just think it's a big step down from reactions of yours I've seen in the past. You're like the teacher who makes a whole class sit out of recess because a couple of students misbehaved. Based on stuff I've seen of yours in the past, this kind of pettiness would seem to be not your angle. But hey, that's the beauty of having your own channel. Change it up when you like. But I hope this feedback will be helpful. All the best.

Haven't watched the reaction yet but I'm sure you got a lot of flack for the Jenny comments in Forrest Gump. Even though that is the shared sentiment a lot of reactors have toward Jenny. When I saw Forest Gump the first several times as a kid, I too hated Jenny, but as I grew older and started to understand different things more I have grown to sympathize with Jenny and I don't blame her character at all and am not mad at her character anymore. Of course you can have any opinion you want and is no never mind to me. This lady however I can see feeling sympathy for her up until the parts where she cobbles his legs and the scrapbook of dead babies fully throws the sympathy out the window for me. She is cray cray with a capital C. Kathy Bates is one of my fave actresses she plays this role phenomenally! James Caan is incredible too.

Oh come on, don't get on Paul's case for drugging her drink. He sees she's in pain, and he wanted to take that pain away. With painkillers. ;P Seriously though, I think my favorite thing about the movie/book is knowing that Annie is a metaphor for addiction, according to Stephen King. And Paul tries to end her with drugs, which obviously doesn't work at all. In the end, Paul has to summon his inner strength to fight her.

Hilarious MrLBoyd. Wonderful! Great rx to a great movie & actors. A few things. Kathy Bates was kinda an unknown at this time. If you can imagine if they had cast a known actress, it made it scarier having Annie be played by an unknown actress. Kathy Bates, brilliant actress. She won a best actress Oscar for this. Absolutely brilliant. Wonderful rx. I love her work in all her movies. If you haven’t seen the Blind Side, she’s in that too. Smaller role but still impactful. A real inspiring movie. It’s be nice to see you do an insulting movie. Blind side is one of the best, but Rudy is the best.

I haven't seen any of the Forrest Gump comments, but I'm guessing you had quite a huge crowd of Jenny lovers who did not appreciate your commentary about her🤣 Your commentary for this movie, however, is spot on! You might not be forgiven right away, but at least you're taking the steps and learning how you are supposed to think in this modern society. I applaud your effort!

So you used this movie, great movie, to talk down to us because you have a hard time understanding any human condition that isn't your own? Bro... Not a good look for a reactor to scold their audience. Edit: Congratulations. You completely destroyed what should have been a great movie reaction by lashing out at your audience. I'm out.

Yes, JeNNY was SA survivor so she was excused from all of her behavior and the way she treated Forrest. She apologized and she was damaged. And Mrlboyd is a insensitive, misogynistic POS (and more that has been sent privately and has been blocked by KZbin) for not siding completely with her. That is basically what the mild comments say. A couple of emails suggested that Mrlboyd should be deleted. So yeah, people take movies way too seriously
