Also, 6 years back I was a bit overhyped for the first draft of a still developing animated Popeye movie. However, partly because most modern executives are notorious trend hoppers and partly due to the values dissonance associated with the older comic strips, the draft was pretty much scrapped up. However, a second draft is finally coming to the VOD market within a couple of years.

There is another lost movie similar to this. It's called Imposters. All the information known about it comes from the Episode 2 audio commentary in ADV's Platinum Edition DVD of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Matt Greenfield (the director of dubbing and voice of Makoto Hyuga) mentions that Spike Spencer (voice of Shinji Ikari) and Amanda Winn-Lee (voice of Rei Ayanami) appeared in an indie film together. Spencer then mentions that nobody ever saw the film, the film was titled Imposters, and that he wasn't even sure if the film was released. I have not seen any information on this outside of what was said in the Evangelion commentary, and I have always been curious of seeing that film ever since I heard about it as a 14-year-old watching Evangelion.

I know of a movie called Cover Up because a band I like did a bunch of cover songs for this homage to 80s movies, they said the film was stolen on opening night but the audio track was still there. You can buy the album they released and it has some of the movie audio in there so you get an idea what the movie was.
