Not only do I love your videos and the attitude behind them, but I much appreciate your focus on how conservation and hunters go hand in hand. As you well know, conservation groups ally themselves regularly with hunting groups, such as Ducks Unlimited, to push back and ensure that wild places in North America are sustainably preserved.

Ive been watching a lot of these vids lately (You Tube rabbit hole stuff).. Australian mainly with Water Buffalo, pigs, goats and donkeys (P.S. I'm not a hunter BTW).. I kind of just don't get the same ... feeling??? when I watch this one. I totally get the $$ for conservation thing. But, I don't know what it is. If old mate had shot and killed a Roo in Africa.. That would make sense... to me. I appreciate that others see things differently and that fine.. Im sure these things are well managed.

@Nairu Arts I am sorry, but that Lion is not even 6 years old. 1) Look at the teeth (Nice and sharp and and white of color) Old lion's teeth is brown and not that sharp any more. 2) Look at the eye casing, old lions have a round inward scull shape, not this line, allot of flesh around the eye. This is the first thing you will pick up when hunting a lion. 3) Look at the skin and main, still beautiful not much territory fights yet, if at all. I will show you a picture of a 2 years old lion, 6 year old and a 8 year old lion, then you will agree with me. An 8 Year old lion in Tanzania looks like it had it's shares in life.....
@mariusbotha62843 жыл бұрын
@Nairu Arts The nose is dark.... A 8 to 10 year old line in the wild's teeth will be not as sharp, will have round tips if any.
@mariusbotha62843 жыл бұрын
You talk about "charts", so I take it you don't have the opportunity to see them that much in the wild, am I right? In what country are you?
@mariusbotha62843 жыл бұрын
@Nairu Arts I here you. I am from South Africa. It is unprofessional for a professional hunter to hunt any animal before it has reached it's prime (in this case is the male lion). I especially blame the tour guide ''professional hunter" that should have picked up that this was a very young lion. And that is He's job, for the over sea hunter might not know that. I know nothing about bears and wolves, so therefore I would rely on a professional hunter that are well known to the area, to make sure that I don't shoot a young animal. Long story short, these guys think we all are stupid. I can't believe it is on youtube.

@JAlainSmith3 жыл бұрын
He was all by himself in open terrain. we could see vast areas from the truck. No sign whats so ever of females and kittens. He would never be off by himself if he was a pride lion. He would stay with the females to protect his harem from other males.

@@GMATTOEFLSATGRECOACH So what. That's hunting. If you don't like it don't watch. Besides the females do the hunting in a pride. The worst that would happen is that another male takes over and kills any cubs the previous lion sired and becomes the new boss. So stop crying with your silly "ethical" arguments. Alain Smith is a very ethical hunter and knows his stuff. Spew your garbage somewhere else!

Why hunt Lions there aren't that many of them, I mean there not endangered but not very many at all. Hunt Buffalo and other herbivores they're plentiful.
@JAlainSmith Жыл бұрын
Lion populations are very healthy in many African countries where sustainable use conservation and hunting are allowed. Where lion are in bad shape is in countries such as Kenya that does not allow hunting and therefore gives no incentive to locals to protect them.There they are shot on sight as cattle killing vermin other than in a few parks.
