People don't understand future has been in the game so long, tony Montana, karate chop, racks on racks, bitches love me, turn off the lights, he was a hook monster before becoming this solo hit artist earlier and people forget about that

now this is a straight man who’s comfortable in his sexuality. most of the guys are gonna dismiss Nicki knowing very well she’s the best selling female rapper of all time and it only took about 3 years of her career to surpass the other females …
@nameisamine11 ай бұрын
It’s more of a question of ‘masculinity’, ‘ego’, and ‘male chauvinism’ rather than sexuality or orientation, but I understand what you’re trying to say.
@nameisamine11 ай бұрын
It’s disappointing that he has to make a whole disclaimer just to put Nicki Minaj on this list just because there’s a lot of dudes with misogynistic tendencies, who will never take a female rapper seriously - no matter how impactful - and will actively gate keep women out of these conversations altogether. She’s one of the most influential artists of that decade regardless of genre. If there was a ‘all-genre’ 2010s Mount Rushmore, frankly, there’s a good case for her making that shortlist too.
@orionguevera11 ай бұрын
youre right , but alot of people speak in terms of what they know . If you dont listen to female rappers it takes longer for you to understand nickis impact, because some people didnt even listen to nicki . everything isnt misogynistic / from hate, some shit just be misinformed. it can be the same if you dont listen to a genre and only use what you know to make opinions, the people that listen to the genre will understand nuance and can provide better context
@orionguevera11 ай бұрын
and if theyre not qualified to speak on it fuck their opinion
@nameisamine11 ай бұрын
@@orionguevera it’s no merely unfamiliarity, they don’t listen _because_ the rapper is female. I didn’t even know it was a thing until I was older that guys would refuse to listen to music made by women. I found that bizarre. The bias is baked in, so let’s call out the male chauvinism we all know exists. If you’re up to date with every major rapper’s discography, but when one of the biggest selling rappers in history is mentioned, and you’ve never tapped simply because she’s female? Then you’re sending the message that art made by women isn’t worth your time, and you send the message that you devalue artistic expression when it’s coming from a female perspective.
@SweaterSwagg11 ай бұрын
Her impact has largely been negative, all her heirs are trash. She has no masterpiece albums and consistently embarrasses herself openly, it ain't misogyny she just ain't all that in the grand scheme 🤷
@nameisamine11 ай бұрын
@@SweaterSwagg This take is flawed; it's more a personal attack on her image than an assessment of her artistic prowess. She brought a dynamic theatricality to hiphop, blazed a trail at a time nobody thought a female rapper could become that successful, mastered the pop/rap crossover, became a global superstar (which had never been done before), carving a blueprint for contemporaries, and influenced music scenes across multiple genres from Europe to Asia, where every Kpop group now has a rapper with colourful hair - you don’t get to BLACKPINK without Nicki Minaj. That's global impact that transcended hiphop. This video clearly highlights her contributions, which you downplay because she's a woman. It's not about judging the impact as good or bad; it's about acknowledging its sheer magnitude. Hence the Mount Rushmore

Well Nicki deserves to be on there! It was disrespectful to put out a vote for the 4th spot! Nicki’s Impact is crazy, she inspired male & every female rapper! Her animated raps were criticized during her debut but it allowed artists like Young Thug & Kendrick do the same without being criticized!!!! She revived female rap genre single handedly & commercialized it like never before! She got some of the most memorable & praised verses in hiphop, she constantly bodied Male Rappers on songs like Jay, Ye, Drake, Wayne & held her own against Eminem, J Cole! Her numbers are only surpassed by Drake! No other rapper seeing her on the charts! She’s billboards 2nd biggest rapper of 2010s & 5th Biggest of all times! She achieved these stats with only 5 Albums out meanwhile her peers have 6-13 albums out! Which is crazy! - With 147 Hot100 Hits including three #1 & 23 Top10, 49 Top20, 72 Top40 Hits & 3 #1 & 3 #2 Projects also a #10 Compilation on albums chart, only Drake can surpass Nicki when it comes to Hits
