Hey Lewis, I need to say that I cannot thank you enough for this channel. About 8 months ago, I prayed to fix my mental health. And I believe God sent me your channel. As a 37 yr old traumatized woman married to a narcissist and unemployed for 4 years, I never thought I would gain the strength to start working again. I was very depressed and had no hope... I was just waiting to die. I have to say, I started working in Nov of 2021 and I am now on a huge mental health journey.. I am a changed woman, thanks to your channel and all of these incredible people you bring on here. You have changed my life for the better. I truly believe I am a better version of myself and I am now on a path to continue to better my mental health. I will one day be strong enough to leave my broken marriage. I am working towards my goals, slowly, but surely. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. I thank God for sending me you channel. I needed this my whole life.

A series of moments where we "percieve that life failed us" has us interpret things like, "i'm not good enough', or "I'm alone", or I'm weak, or I'm unlovable - who and what we attach that to is different for everyone. People who seek validation from their father are bring taught the lesson that validation is an 'inside job' and can never be found from "dad" or 'others". That's the ultimate lesson. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what "dad" did or didn't do - it has EVERYTHING to do with how we interpreted events and what WE MADE IT MEAN. We project it onto parents because we have no concept that WE MADE IT UP - as a convenient interpretation - and the payoff for the ego is to never have to be responsible for those thoughts - which ultimately is a way of staying small in life - and not having to take responsility for their true power. Ultimately when a parent is concerned and tells their kid what to do - at the bottom of it all, when you strip it all away - all it really means is "I love you and want the best for you" ..... DING

Hi Lewis, didn't know you slept on couches to get your business going. That's pretty cool. It's easy for me to look at my business and say, "If I have to sleep on couches for a year, then that's society telling me that my product is worthless." Hearing about sacrifices like yours and Alex's keeps me from getting tunnel vision and letting temporary circumstances kill my confidence. Thanks to both of you for this interview.

As a business owner, you rarely give yourself time to REALLY think about what you're thinking about. This has forced me to really consider What do I really want? Really and Why? What am willing to resist in the local to gain the global because of it? Is my current environment set up to support this? What is the one thing I can do today to begin?

This was such a great interview! Lewis, you are one of my favorite interviewers. But okay, why do you have to choose between love and respect?! You don’t. I expect and have BOTH. I married before with incredible respect, friendship, admiration, financial abundance, aligned values, etc., but after so many years realized I would never be happy because I also needed the physical chemistry/to be in love as well. So we ended it with love and kindness, still on good terms 13 years later, and both of us moved on to have relationships where we are happy.

I always believed that moving up into a business (i.e management) will give you a bright future, but the more time I spend investing my time in business models, the more I realize that managers make other people rich while business owners (who also manage people, but on their own terms), can make themselves rich. The risk is losing your business or businesses if you fail versus getting fired from a company for not producing for the business. Either way you are now unemployed. So I think I would rather fail at my business and learn from it then failing at someone else’s business and not learning much moving forward.

Why would you not be able to learn at someone else's business?

@@HughMirin-Bruh You would as long as they would be willing to teach you unless you are really business savvy and can pick up on certain things
