The trick is credited to Arthur Felsman who apparently created it in the 1920s
It is based on the much older Passé Bottles routine that was invented in the 19th century.

I always loved that trick. I have seen it done on the street one time. Never seen it busking again. Been trying to work out the reset ever sense. My 12 x 24 table will hold my 10 bottle set with little room to spare. Great video.

The problem with the trick is the reset. I made a case with a padded top. When I finished the trick I would set the top over the bottles and I was done.

We need the vest the tie! You created a standard sir ;) lol I'm joking of course but did make me pause. That was one of my biggest problems in my tiny shows. Having a routine that was clean after. Clean up always sucked, I actually at a few would clean up after each trick lol but that broke the rhythm. I like this top idea, of course I've not done the multiplying bottles routine but would love to add it :D I was hoping for the drinking from the one bottle at the end. Always thought that was fun. As mentioned I've always been a close up magician. Specializing in fire and levitation magic :) however I can't help but love doing classic old tricks :)

It was really hot the day I shot this video, but YES you are so right! I need the vest and tie. I shot a few vids on the same day, so there will be a few more vest and tie less OMG!! Let's face it; it is a brand. As to clean up, I plan my shows with clean up in mind. You don't want to expose a trick when audience members rush the stage after the show.

It really is a fun routine :) I've always liked adding a bit oh comedy to performances and this is built right in. I also think the humor can distract from trying to figure it out too.

Can't you just fit all the bottles in a large change bag after closing the show.. one at a time inside the bag they go
