They tried to wow the audience with this new Mummy conjuring a sandstorm in London like Imhotep did. Even constantly throwing it in the trailers. But then you stepped back and realised that it was a pointless display of power that doesn’t serve the story much.

Great review pal. The first 30 minutes of the movie was on point. After the plane crash, it was all down hill. The developers were all over the place, trying to introduce this Dark Universe & the movie itself, had no true identity. Was it a horror, action, adventure??? The Mummy 2017 had the potential to be a great movie, but they weren't able to deliver and failed miserably.

I saw this movie and i absolutely hate it. The idea of Dracula, Frankenstein / Frankenstein Monster, were-wolves, all living in the same universe is an awesome idea.. Just not for this movie. The Egyptian Mythology is absolutely wrong, even if all we get out of anything Egyptian is the god Set. Aside from the plot holes, a confusing story and predicting that Tom just added two more girls to his list of potential girl-friends sexual or other-wise. I think the biggest problem is that this movie gives details but doesn't explain what it means. Such as the four pupils in the eyes gig.

TheSaltisReal The Matrix was another hugely formative one for me! Again another TV screening. Saw the first one when some channel was putting on one every Saturday and I was so amazed by it that I actually planned to sit down and watch the next two and scheduled myself around the showings which is something I'd not done for a film before, normally I'd of just sort of caught films on TV rather than actively look forward to a showing of one.

I had to think about it but there are very few Movies I like - I tend to get to about the level of "That was cool" - I certainly have not "Fallen in Love with Movies" (yes that even includes Star Wars) I'm interested in them - but I don't think I "Love" any movie and in general I've probably had stronger emotional responses to Videogames, Novels, Cartoons, even comic books that I have to Movies in general. I suspect it's a case of familiarity breeding contempt. I liked them more when I was a cub. I'm broadly indifferent to most TV though so I likely just don't like Motion media as a storytelling form that much. To be honest I feel slightly embarrased that I don't have the intense feeling for them some have. - I have plenty i'm mildly fond of : like The Last Starfighter or Flight of the Navigator, Or Goonies I even like Ant Man more than seems typical. But Love - no I can't say I have really fell in love with Movies yet.

If I was a Hollywood executive, seeking to do something "new"; I would set up a cinematic universe franchise where I kill off all of the major characters needed to produce a team-up movie before the team-up movie ever happens. But then I get bored with the excess leftover money so there's a team-up movie in hell with all of their dead souls, given unique powers based on their sins or some shit and they all fail to beat Satan, 'cause they're in Hell and it's as pointless as breaking into someone's house just to vacuum it, so they wind up having a big orgy, the end.

It is, man. Because Gods of Egypt at least gives us 3 cool things. Ancient egypt. Cool god concepts ( though not done enough ofc) Mythological creatures befitting the setting. The Mummy however is primarily just in London, where you dont give a damn about anything or anyone. And all you want to see is more real mummies, ancient egypt, pyramids and whatever else cool. But is kept at a downlow because apparently Tom Cruise had a talk with the producer and made sure he got more screen time than anyone else. And other reasons sure :) ¨Film has great potential. But is total shit unfortunately. Its worth 1 watch. Only to understand. But beware, it will make you annoyed because you'll realize how easily it could be better, and hollywood not understanding that just sucks. Its just another monster tries to destroy the world yada yada, film. As generic as it gets.

They have aged rather poorly though. But I agree, Homecoming has nothing on the first two Raimi films and even the first Amazing Spider-Man. Everyone was flat and it felt far too much like a Disney Channel teen film, which are bad and should not be anywhere near close Spider-Man. It is a problem when the best character is Liz Allan, who doesn't even get that much screen time anyway.
