The 1999 mummy was a remake of the mummy (1932). So if you are saying they a making a remake of a good movie (The Mummy 1932 Original) then yes, if it follows its own story. They 1999 The mummy is like a reboot from the 1932 movie. So no one is copying the 1999 mummy.

it's could be done well, like the judge dredd reboot, Dredd. I absolutely loved the original, and I was not disappointed with the reboot at all. But there is also total recall, which was a remake, and it's was kinda disappointing compared to the original total recall, and it didn't even mention mars. It was actually a large part of the movie, really it gave motive for Quade, and gave you a reason for the whole cover-up mind wipe thriller aspect.

Yes but the trailer did not even mention the plot line. It was just a plane crashing and the guy coming back to life and all that. The next trailer will give us an aspect of the story and then you can call it shit. But don't call the movie shit because of a trailer that does not explain anything.

I've always loved the classic Universal Monster movies. Boris Karloff was a master of horror. The movie from 1999 and its sequels were pretty good too. I'm excited to see this version. It's a bit of a surprise that the new mummy is a female. I'm even more surprised that Russel Crowe will play Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde is not even part of the Universal Monsters, but it looks and sounds quite interesting.
