The Mummy Returns Trailer - Directed by Stephen Sommers and starring Brendan Fraser, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr, Dwayne Johnson. Many years ago, in Ancient Egypt, the Scorpian King led a menacing army, but when he sold his soul to Anubis, he was erased from history. Now he is only a myth...or is he? Rick and Evelyn O'Connell is still discovering new artifacts, along with their 8 year old son Alex. They discover the Bracelet of Anubis. But someone else is after the bracelet. High Priest Imhotep has been brought back from the dead once again and wants the bracelet, to control the Scorpian King's army. That's not the only problem. Imhotep now has Alex and with the bracelet attached to him, doesn't have long to live.

Now this is how you do a sequel! I just saw this on TV a while ago and was reminded how much I enjoy it as much as the first one. I still remember this trailer like it was yesterday. It was so exciting seeing nearly all the characters from the first film returning, plus it was a HUGE deal at the time that The Rock was making his acting debut and was going to be in this, as well. My favorite part of the trailer was always when Brendan said "Not these guys again!" lol.

I once recorded this movie via VHS from live tv and then ran the VHS audio out to an audio cassette recorder and used to play the movie audio on my Walkman…. I had seen the movie so many times that all I needed was the audio. At times, it felt like I could speak Egyptian 😂😂

I thought they did a good job of expanding upon the story in the original rather than copying it, and they got the entire cast back and even most of the crew including the director. It's a sequel that knows exactly what the audience wants, and that respects the original.

Movie is officially 20 years old!!! I remember seeing it opening weekend with my dad and sisters Miles high better than the first movie Better action, better special effects, love how they expanded Rachel Weisz's role as Evey, and Freddie Boath as the son Alex was a welcome addition. This was also my first introduction to Dwayne Johnson as the Scorpion King. Catapulted his career thankfully. Loved playing the PS2 video game so much. Can you believe it was only made on a $98 million budget? Made $435 million worldwide. Brendan Fraser has become an internet sensation now these days with tweets archival photographs, memes, video montages and TikTok posts. It's a shame he disappeared into obscurity over the years but according to an interview with GQ it was because of the physical toll on his body, the abuse he suffered from Phillip Berk, and his fame dwindling. But I do like Fraser as a whole, he's got that charm, goofy lovable energy about him. Even if his entire film career isn't perfect he's still a welcome presence.

People put too much emphasis on graphics and very little on story telling. Nowadays I prefer to see alot or Korean and other international movies which have so much meaning, twists and turns.
