I mean, wasn't it everybody's bi awakening? There's this meme that goes: "My sexuality is the cast of the 1999 The Mummy" and it's pretty accurate.

I am SCREAMING at minute 40. The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are my favorite movies of all time. And the thing is that it’s appropriate that they win on accident or in silly ways because it’s their CHOICES that are ridiculed. They have a woman on their team (which also, I think it’s so misogynistic bc it’s supposed to technically be a period piece in like the 30s), they ended up with camels, they have a criminal and a goofy brother. They’re “losing” bc they’re constantly making the dumb choice (reading from the book of the dead bc you just freaking love books so much) or they’re making the choice that is looked down upon by the culture at the time (listening to Evie ever bc she’s a woman). It’s not supposed to be Indiana Jones, it’s the 1999 Mummy with Brendan Frazer and that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be and I love it

This was the first DVD I ever got, for my first DVD player in 2002. I hadn't seen it, but I wanted to and it was the first movie I watched while recovering from surgery. I think the misogyny was a deliberate portrayal of the attitudes at the time with no candy coating or revisionism and it allowed the character of Evie (Rachel Weisz) to kick it in the teeth. I love it and it's so much a guilty pleasure.

It’s why I hate that theatre! My brother came to visit (lived there in my 20s, post mummy exposure) and he noted how it kinda looks like a bad background from the mummy 🤣🤣 we love this film. If you guys want some hot Brendan Frasier movie action, may I present to you "Blast from the Past." It is CRIMINALLY underrated. Sexy Brendan Frasier moments: 1. Brendan Frasier ripping open a torn hole in Alicia Silverstone's pants and blowing on a cut on her knee. 2. Brendan Frasier swing dancing with two ladies at the height on the swing dance trend in the 90s. Fun bonuses: Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek play Brendan Frasier's stuck-in-the-50s parents. 2. Fantastic 90s indie rock soundtrack 3. SUPER funny!!! I could not recommend this movie enough. You guys, please, please, PLEASE review this movie on the pod. I'm telling you--you will LOVE it!!!!! It's so wonderful.

One of a handful of my comfort movies. I just watched both one and two in the last couple weeks. Rachel Weisz getting new clothes before they go into the desert and so many other times..... so gorgeous. Brendan Fraser and Oded Fehr.... ooooo my..... I'm so happy Brendan has been looking so much happier recently, I've always loved him. Also, I recently saw him mention that everyone mispronounces his last name. It is Fraser with a "zer" sound, not Frasier. I still can't look mummy Imhotep in the face or I end up jumpy and might have a nightmare. Human face Imhotep though...
