i know ppl keep saying matt brod is no good at this role but on the other hand. i'm only 17 and this would be my first time actually seeing to music man so i must say I'm enjoying it regardless. It's deff nice to actually recognize the actors. :P ( Chenoweth is superb as well )

@vlasktom That has got to be the most important scene in the musical. It shows that Harold is actually able to form music out of no music.

@greentrombone I'm a trombone player too! And the magnificent Vern Reed -tenor of the Buffalo Bills -he was one of a kind. Most if not all barbershop tenors of the last 40+ years have been falsetto.Vern owned thosed full voice high b-naturals-amazing! My dad got to play the part of Jaycey Squires twenty+ years ago when he had those notes full voice too.

The costumes in this version are ten times better, and I loved the original costumes. Plus the Mayor is far funnier in this new version. I have to say I like both the classic and the new.

@Maestro250014 жыл бұрын
I was wondering how this 2003 quartet would match up against the Buffalo Bills. This musical's quartet music was written specifically for the Buffalo Bills by the writer of the music. I was very disappointed, this quartet's tenor was a mere shadow eclipsed by Vern Reed, the original tenor.

The mayor is supposed to be a complete idiot. He's too intelligent in this. His words are too precise. Particularly at the "You watch your phraseology!" and "Don't you counterdict me!" It doesn't seem real enough.
@marinadoshkevich48639 жыл бұрын
gingergamergirl98 So what? Its a good change. If he was a complete idiot why would he have been elected mayor, dumbass??? He is a complete idiot that seems intelligent in this version, which makes much more sense, and is much funnier, too! It seems more real.

The high tenor is amazingly weak! He is relying on falsetto to hit the high notes but doesn't have the breath support to back it up. Most likely he's not a tenor at all, but a jumped up baritone, or a lyric baritone.

Oh, this is just the worst acting I've ever scene, made all the worse that they take no originality in their lines. I can clearly match this part in the movie to the part in the older (and better) movie. And the Buffalo Bills (the quartet in the old one) own these barber shop rejects like Rikki-Tikki-Tavi owns Nagaina.
@deanm3754 жыл бұрын
Clearly the producers didn't bother to recruit an actual barbershop quartet from the Barbershop society, like Sloan Wilson did for the original cast. Weak voices.
