Tyne Daly ... what a classy and talented lady. Love her at "Cagney and Lacey. Didn't know she could sing. Give her a Broadway Show.

She won a Tony for Rose in "GYPSY" in the late 1980s. Talented woman!

@@beaellie9766 She was fantastic in "Gypsy"! Also saw her play another Ethel Merman role in the Encores concert staging of "Call Me Madam" incredibly charming. There are clips from both shows here on KZbin -- she was in much better voice in the theater than for either cast album.

This is so funny since it was right after Kristin Chenoweth's performance! I saw Tyne in MASTER CLASS on Broadway recently! She took my breath away as Maria Callas! She is currently reprising the role in the West End. If you have not seen it yet, PLEASE GO!! Tyne will take your breath away!

Ahhh yes... I love this Musical!! But unlike Tyne, not only do I like to portray Harold Hill, I get into all the characters!! Lol Shirley Jones’ voice was absolute magic in this movie. That was a special treat! Way to go Tyne.

Tyne Daly is a treasure, and here's evidence! I would love to see "Captain Hook's Lament" from this same performance with the Boston Pops, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know a site to watch the whole performance from that evening?

I don’t know if she’s done it yet (I’ll look when I’m done with this piece of magic) but she would absolutely murder Sondheim’s Not Getting Married.

Somebody in the Broadway industry with talent and cash needs to write and produce a gender-swapped version of THE MUSIC MAN just so this lady can play Professor Harriet Hill! If any woman in the world could follow in the marching footsteps of Robert Preston and Hugh Jackman, Tyne Daly is that woman. I guarantee you she'd sell out the house every single night for years.
@IlaughedIcriedАй бұрын
That was my immediate thought too! I'd LOVE to see a gender-bent Music Man!!
