My mother taught me to play when I was 8, and she used to play this song so emotionally and so beautifully. I was always in awe of her talent. She is now battling multiple sclerosis and has been mostly unable to play the piano for several years now. I've been trying to find a piano version of this song played with heart and emotion, and yours is just perfection. I have my headphones on, my sound up, and I'm allowing myself to both remember and grieve. Thank you very much for this, from the bottom of my heart. I've avoided piano since her diagnosis because it's a painful reminder, but I miss it. This is what I needed. Thank you 🧡 thank you so much.

One of the best musical songs of all time. Absolutely inspired genius by ALW and TR. I sang this incredible song when I was about 12 or 13 at singing competition at my school. I won the competition. The boys at my all boys school started by sniggering and ended by standing up and clapping. The quiet moments were like pin drops. My music teacher nailed the musical interlude - played here just as I remember him playing it. I wish I could go back and just listen to him play. It was really the most perfect day of my school life. I was a shy, relatively unpopular boy. But the moments I cherish the most are with my wonderful nexdoor neighbour. She was a retired teacher. Majestic on the piano. She patiently taught me the song over many weeks. Taught me how to breathe. Taught me how to be so much more than I am. She is no longer with us but she will know how much that moment meant to me. Now at the age of 41, I think I may try and learn it again.
