He wasted nearly 5 hours of Joel's. What a dreadful hypocrite! That sort of behaviour merits redstone modifications, IMO. Tick delays, extra RS torches, the occasional water spill, maybe replacing a few observers with deepslate diamond ore blocks, or disconnecting his chunkloading array. None would be off limits, IMO.

Hello! I'm a musicology major! What you have built is not a phonograph, but rather a gramophone. While it is correct that Edison's phonograph was the first device to successfully record and play back sound, the phonograph recorded its sound on tinfoil cylinders (they soon changed them to wax, as the tinfoil had a tendency to break after a couple of playbacks). It wasn't until a couple of decades later that a competitor thought to record on discs rather than cylinders; this patent quickly took over the market as it could store more sound per disc than a cylinder could, and because it was infinitely easier to copy and mass produce. The disc-based music players were dubbed "gramophones", and even Edison went on to produce his own discs. The last cylinder-based phonographs ebbed out of the market between ca 1910-1920 :)

If you want a hand gathering location specific discs like Pigstep, you could model it a little bit like a used record store where people can bring in their extra discs to you to exchange for diamonds, and you could then upsell them for 2 diamonds or whatever (people could also donate their own custom discs to be resold-bop it song, touch grass hermitcraft theme music, etc)
