So far (October 10th, 2019), I've seen 8 from your list: -Color Out of Space -La Belle Époque -Les Misérables -Hustlers -Joker -Pain and Glory -Parasite (Best I've seen in 2019 so far) -Portrait of a Lady on Fire -I've never been to TIFF, but in terms of movies shown at TIFF 2019, I've also seen "Abominable," "Bacurau," "Deerskin," "First Love," "Frankie," "The Goldfinch," "A Hidden Life," "Judy," "Lucy in the Sky," "The Traitor," and "The Vast of Night." Also an early work-in-progress screening of "Harriet" back in April 2019. -Aside from TIFF 2019 movies that already came out theatrically in the US, some of the notable ones are "Bacurau," "A Hidden Life," "The Traitor," and "The Vast of Night." Even "Deerskin" I'll say, although I do prefer these 4 movies over it. -"First Love" already came out in the US, but I would like to throw it in there, since it was hella fun.

I'm super bummed to not even see anyone's movie review of Jexi. THAT was the most hilarious movie I have seen in a LONG time because of how true it is...and how true it will be in the future. Just seeing everyone walking around outside looking at their phones and of course the whole Alexa thing. Well, this is the new generation up from that and it's gonna happen. A bit extreme, sure. But totally plausible. I saw it as a bit of a nod to Electric Dreams. So if you loved that movie you should absolutely with no question love Jexi. And the comedic moments from all of the major players are totally worth it. But just my opinion. Maybe since the shock value provides a lot of the entertainment, it might be the best the first time around but see with a group of friends and when you're ready to see it again, see it with a group of different friends. Definitely a seeing with a group of friends type of movie. Just maybe not your first date and for sure not with your parents. The contemplation over sending the dick pic was one of the best series of moments in the movie and you get to see some dick. So best not to be witness to that with mom and dad. :D

Parasite is just too good. Had to watch it for philosophy and I was panicking because I didn't even know the work was due the next day. Was super late at night and I was just confused afterwards, but also shocked about what just happened. I thought about it a lot (well the work made me) even without the work it truly made me think about class, right, wrong, and who we respect.
