The Mustang MACH1 and everything I HATE about Mustangs 😖

This guy has no idea what he is talking about in terms of how fast this car is, especially relative to hot hatches like his Fiesta ST. The Fiesta ST is 0-60 mid 6's and 1/4 Mile in high 14's. The Focus ST is 0-60 in high 5's and 1/4 mile in low 14's. The Mach1? 0-60 in low 4's and 1/4 mile in low to mid 12's. The Mach 1 is MUCH faster than all the hot hatches. And if you get the handling package it's been shown to be as fast around a track as a GT350R! This car is in a totally different league than those teenager puddle jumpers, and the price reflects that.

Finally someone that gets it. I've never understood how a reviewer and journalist can be so completely off on their information. A mach 1 will absolutely thrash a stock "hot hatch" in a drag and on a track. These cars are not even in the same league. A mach 1 is a beast of a car for the price point...a hot hatch is for teens and twenty somethings that watch fast and the furious 3 times a day, and will put a 6 inch can for a muffler on their car and make it sound like a pissed off weedeater, right before they drop 8 grand into making them run what a stock mustang will when it pulls off the dealer lot....put that same money into a new 5.0 or mach 1....you'll have a daily driveable 10 sec car that will carve up a track like its nothing and put bus lengths on cars in a drag....lol

Now you get it! The perfections in the imperfections. That's what the mustang is about. It's beastly. You have to be skilled to drive it really good, you must pay attention, you experience the car. That's why we love it in America. Feeeeel the car!

Great review. As a Mach 1 owner I concur on a lot of the points you made, although I have the 10 speed so the cupholder position isn't a problem for me and being in Aus, I don't have or need a heated steering wheel. Completely agree with your sentiments on how it drives as well. My last two cars were an M550i and an M3 which were much faster, more competent, more refined, better tech, the list goes on. The Mach 1 is still so much fun despite all of that and sounds amazing. None of the BMWs I've owned have come close to sounding as good or getting as much attention as the Mach 1 does

Couple things I want to add as a Mach 1 owner - This car is Fast, only noticeable if you push it past 6K rpm it'll beat most hot hatches on the M-way / dual carriage - the handling is better than a normal s550 however it's not the best part of the experience I guess - discontinued now so adds to the "special edition" factor - back seats are a joke lol

Agree with this, apart from the ‘fast’ bit! I do agree that it’s damn quick past the 6K mark… but if you are comparing it to modern turbo hot hatches, they get on the power from 2k rpm. By the time you’ve got the Mustang on the power, most other turbo vehicles will be long gone! But, that doesn’t bother me in the slightest. The Mustang driver would definitely have the bigger smile ;)

Mustangs is not a hot hatch, so to compare to them is just plain ludicrous. Plus i have yet to be beaten anywhere by any hot hatch in mine (older 2019 GT not a mach 1). On track and on road, just leave them for dust.

That is pretty shitty of Ford to not switch the cup holders and e brake around for the right hand drive market (even if it is, clearly, the wrong side). Not too concerned about rear seats. I've always kinda wished this car was just an unabashed two seater.

I just purchased a 2021 Mustang GT 401a pkg and I look at the Mach 1 as the slightly older and cooler brother of my car. I'm extremely happy with my car but if I had the funds to go Mach 1 I certainly would have done so!!! I honestly don't see myself owning anything besides Mustangs in my life because I love them so much!!!

It’s big enough. The biggest challenge would be getting it over the rear lights. If you can get it through the opening, the boot is more than big enough 👍🏼

If you wanted better handling you should have gotten the handling package. Base model anything is not going to handle well. most people underbuy and are disappointed. Should always overbuy and be impressed. plus when you buy the special packages the cars hold their value better. Resale on base model automobiles is horribly disappointing. I say if you want to buy any car or truck. be honest with yourself in how you are going to drive it and what you truly expect from the car or truck and buy accordingly. He is right about the mustang. It will always make you smile. If you're not smiling when you driving or not looking back at your car after you park and walk away. Then you bought the wrong car.

Wish Ford would equip better looking wheels as the "Torque Thrust" style wheels seems to be the standard designs Ford equips their cars with for the longest time! I even got similar styles wheels on my 16 GT and it was the first thing I got rid of because it's such an ugly ass wheel design!
